Bordeaux Chateau Lamothe-Vincent 🏰🍇

In October 2019, I had the chance to travel to France with friends and was invited by the owner of Chateau Lamothe-Vincent in Bordeaux to visit the estate, where I encountered the Grand Roc wine (from the Super Bordeaux region). Bordeaux is not only the largest wine-producing area in France but also the largest in the world, and it is a must-visit place for all wine enthusiasts globally. Located in southwestern France and close to the Atlantic coast, Bordeaux has a temperate oceanic climate that is very suitable for grape growth. We typically divide the Bordeaux region into the Left Bank and the Right Bank, separated by two rivers that split the region into two parts. The Left Bank has a warm climate with plenty of sunshine, making it more suitable for Cabernet Sauvignon growth. The Right Bank has a cooler climate, which is more suitable for Merlot growth. Bordeaux is a large production area with many sub-regions. Some famous sub-regions on the Left Bank include Médoc and Graves, where the so-called five first-growth chateaux are located. On the Right Bank, Saint-Émilion and Pomerol are also very famous sub-regions. In fact, the most expensive wine, Pétrus, comes from the Pomerol region, not from the Médoc region where Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Latour are located. The two largest regions in terms of area in Bordeaux are: Bordeaux AOC and Bordeaux Supérieur AOC. These two regions account for about 50% of the total Bordeaux production. There are many large and small chateaux in these regions, so there are also significant differences in price and quality. The "Grand Roc wine" 🍷 comes from the Bordeaux Supérieur AOC - Chateau Lamothe-Vincent in Bordeaux, France. "Grand Roc" is the cream of the crop of the estate. It is a single vineyard within the estate, only 2.5 hectares, composed of 100% Merlot, with an annual production of only about 10,000 bottles, and it is only produced in good vintage years. The Grand Roc vineyard is the first Merlot single vineyard to show tremendous potential. The years 2015 and 2016 were excellent vintages for Bordeaux. The main grape varieties in the Bordeaux region are: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. There are also blending varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. #Bordeaux #GreatDestination #DestinationRecommendation
