Bordeaux Three-Day Travelogue: Play, Eat, and Experience 🍷🍽️🏰

I arrived in Bordeaux 3 days before a conference to make up for the regret of not visiting during the pandemic. It turned out to be quite fun: I ate at some great restaurants, visited Cité du vin, and even toured a vineyard where I made my own red wine. 🏬 Cité du vin: The entrance fee was 22 euros, a bit pricey. But the experience was indeed good, and I learned a lot about wine varieties and the brewing process. The more fun parts were smelling various aromas and identifying different wine colors. There was also a little game to predict which type of wine you are—passionate like me. Finally, a free glass of wine was included, which was just okay. 🍽️ Dining: I won't mention the mediocre ones, but let's talk about Mélodie. I personally think it's really good, and the price is very reasonable. For 25 euros, you get an appetizer, main course, and dessert. This price is quite good for the second half of 2024, and in Paris, there are basically none that can offer this price, or only during the week's lunchtime with smaller portions. The portion at Mélodie is very generous, enough to make you full, and I think the service is pretty good too. I booked a table for 7:30 at 7 pm, and it was no problem. 🍷 Winery (Château Lauduc): I've visited some in Burgundy before, and it was nothing special. But this winery, which I found through the Bordeaux Tourism Board, offers a self-blending service, which was quite interesting. After arriving, the guide and the tour were quite good. Not only did we observe various grapes like Merlot, Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, but since it's a modern winery, we also visited the stainless steel wine storage tanks. The taste? Well, it was the smell of fermentation. #FrenchWine #Bordeaux #WineryVisit
