Boston's Cozy Cantonese Eatery 🥢 Winter-Perfect Slow-Simmered Soups!
As a longtime Boston local, susu has always held a special place in my heart as one of the first Cantonese restaurants downtown to offer fresh rice noodle rolls (cheong fun). It’s been years since I last visited, and this trip to Chinatown was a real nostalgia trip~ 🍲 Cordyceps Flower Chicken Soup One sip in winter and it’s pure magic—instant revival! The broth is as rich and comforting as homemade, maybe even more flavorful. Simmered in a clay pot to lock in all the freshness. (Also available: coconut chicken soup, ox tendon soup, and more.) 🥣 Eel Clay Pot Rice Certified delicious by my Cantonese friend! Not overly oily, every grain of rice is infused with flavor, and the crispy rice crust pairs perfectly with tender eel. 🐔 Sizzling Chicken Pot Savory with a light charred aroma from the clay pot. A bit salty on its own, but perfect with rice. Highly recommended by the staff—even my Cantonese buddy couldn’t stop eating! As a Shanghainese, I found it pretty good, though not mind-blowing. 🐂 Beef Rice Noodle Roll with Egg The rice noodle sheet is thin, though a bit oilier than I remembered, with a soft, sticky texture. 🍐 Snow Pear Jelly Handmade in-house, light and smooth, refreshing and not too sweet—sips like delicate crushed jelly. A classic Cantonese-style nourishing dessert that leaves you feeling warm and content! 🌟 Su Su Snack 💰 Around $40 per person 🅿️ Parking nearby is tough, but delivery apps can bring it straight to your door for convenience~ #BostonFood #BostonLife #BostonExploration #WhatToEatInBoston #BostonCantoneseFood
