Boston's Hidden Izakaya Gem: Sugidama Soba & Izakaya 🍜✨
📍 Sugidama Soba & Izakaya Easily accessible via the Red Line (Davis Square stop), this cozy spot won over my entire team with its authentic soba and izakaya classics! Tucked away just steps from the station, it offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for casual dinners or small gatherings with friends. 🍽️ What We Loved: ▪️ Sake Oyako Don + Cold Soba Set 🍣 - Generous portions! Fresh sashimi over rice + perfectly chewy buckwheat noodles (ideal for summer!). The combination is both refreshing and deeply satisfying—a must-try for anyone visiting. ▪️ Tempura Platter 🍠 - Sweet potato + seasonal veggies (but the purple sweet potato tempura stole the show!). Light, crispy, and not overly greasy—everything tempura should be! ▪️ Scallop Hokkaiyaki 🍥 - Creamy scallops, crab meat, and mushrooms baked to perfection. Rich, savory, and full of umami flavor… we couldn’t get enough! 💬 Also worth mentioning: their drink menu includes a nice selection of sake and Japanese beers that pair wonderfully with the food. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. 💰 Price: ~$30/person (including tip!). Really reasonable for the quality and quantity—you leave feeling full and happy without breaking the bank. If you’re around Davis Square and craving Japanese comfort food, Sugidama is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back! #BostonEats #JapaneseFood #SobaLovers #DavisSquare #IzakayaNight #BostonFoodFinds #HiddenGem
