Boston's Sweet MVP Picks After 3 Years 🍰✨
1️⃣ Mango Mango 🥭 My absolute #1 dessert spot! 🥇 First tried it in Flushing—was completely mesmerized by their mango sauce and mango ice cream 🥹. Was thrilled to find they have a Quincy location too, and I've been back like 5,678 times since… (Their crème brûlée mille crepe is also incredible! 🤫) 2️⃣ Flake 🥧 A cozy little shop specializing in Portuguese egg tarts 🏪. The crust is unbelievably flaky and crispy! Filled with rich cream and a hint of cinnamon ✨ (not for cinnamon haters~). Since they bake in batches, you can always get a freshly baked, warm tart 🔥. Perfect for the coming winter! ❄️ 3️⃣ Cafe Vittoria Tiramisu ☕️ A vintage café hidden in the Italian neighborhood near Haymarket 🕰️. Only tried their tiramisu—sweet but not cloying, with a rich aroma of coffee liqueur and cocoa powder. Pretty sure they're cash only 💵, so come prepared! 4️⃣ Lakon Paris Patisserie 🥐 Their croissants are hailed as "the best in Massachusetts" 🏆. Wasn't impressed until I tried this stunning blueberry Danish in spring! 🫐 Most American jams are too sweet and lose the fruit's real flavor, but Lakon's blueberry filling actually keeps the fresh blueberry fragrance~ and it's piled high with whole berries! (But the tiramisu latte in the pic is too sweet—not recommended 🙅). Later tried other Danishes here—all were hits! The strawberry-lychee one (pic 5) is also delicious~ even though it uses canned lychee, it’s not overly sweet at all! 5️⃣ Japanaise Bakery Used to live nearby and went every week 🍓! Love the mini croissants (pic 8)—crispy layers + custard + fresh strawberry slices = perfection! Also regularly bought their shokupan 🍞—it’s a soft, fluffy Japanese milk bread with a light soy milk aroma. (⚠️ Only open Thursday–Sunday, don’t go on closed days!) Teaser 📣: The Chinese food guide I promised is still in the works… Let’s enjoy desserts first! 🎉 #StudentEats #BostonMustEat #Food #BostonFood #BostonDesserts
