Boston | 🇺🇸 It’s a Blessing to Have Vietnamese Food Here
Stop spending money on tough-to-cut steaks🥩, overly salty pasta🍝, and ice-cold cheese dips🧀! Let’s explore the delicious Vietnamese cuisine in Boston! ❶ Saigon Babylon This is what real fusion should be like🤌! The appetizers are amazing—order with your eyes closed. For main courses, choose your favorite protein~ Lemongrass Beef Carpaccio Tender medium-rare Wagyu beef with fresh cilantro and fragrant lemongrass, paired with a light, tangy-sweet sauce and crispy rice crackers—so many layers of flavor✨! Fluke Salad A delightful surprise🎉! Perilla, mint, and crushed peanuts add aromatic herb flavors to the mild fluke sashimi—a truly exciting salad. Squab with Turmeric Sticky Rice The minced squab is slightly salty and gamey, but the turmeric sticky rice is perfectly cooked—not raw, with just the right chewiness😋. Monkfish with Herbs & Rice Noodles An explosion of Southeast Asian herbs🌿, served over cool, smooth rice noodles. The fried fish chunks soften a bit after saucing, but the seasoning remains top-notch. ✨ Their rooftop bar has a great vibe, and the menu updates frequently. Aside from the slightly high tip, there are no downsides—I’ll definitely be back to try new dishes🔄! ❷ Pho Basil The only Boston restaurant I truly miss—I haven’t found a worthy replacement even in Shanghai🏙️! Dac Biet Pho (💰$16) is packed with brisket, tendon, tripe, and tenderloin. One bowl leaves you deeply satisfied🍜. The broth is crystal clear and incredibly fresh—pure beef and chicken bone aroma, and it won’t make you thirsty afterward. Not having it for a week leaves me craving it 😭! ❸ Ba Le Approved by my Vietnamese friends as the “best bánh mì in town”🏆! Everything is just right: smoky grilled meat, crisp pickled daikon, savory chicken liver pâté, and a baguette that’s crispy outside and soft inside🥖. Both the grilled beef and chicken are generously filled. The only downside is the location is a bit far—you might need an Uber🚗. ❹ Mecha Noodle Bar If you’re craving noodles but can’t decide what kind, this is your spot🍲! They offer ramen, pho, and tossed noodles. The pho noodles are thicker than Pho Basil’s—more slippery and satisfying😊. The beef balls burst with juicy flavor, though the broth is a bit heavier and less clear. ❺ Saigon Fusion Cozy atmosphere, and the owner was still warm and welcoming even when we visited near closing time🕰️. The beef cuts are tender and thick, but the broth doesn’t match Pho Basil’s rich beef bone aroma🥣. Their bánh mì isn’t great either (too little filling, bread too soft). The rainbow boba is tasty, though🌈. Whether you’re dining solo or with a group, whether you have an Asian palate or prefer “Western” meals, Vietnamese/Thai cuisine covers all the bases: carbs🍚, protein🥩, light or bold flavors, cold plates🥗, and hot dishes🔥. Thank goodness for these wonderful Vietnamese/Southeast Asian restaurants 🙏! #BostonFood #VietnameseFood #Pho #BanhMi #SoutheastAsianCuisine #Food #BostonFoodDiscovery #AsianFoodSavior #FusionCuisine #FoodieDiary
