Boston | Come and eat the new Thai Wagu and beef sour spicy noodles đ
đ What A Soup: Bostonâs New Thai Spot (But RIP Nu Do) Fellow Southeast Asian food fans, check my collectionâIâve tried over a dozen Thai spots in Boston, and this one? Itâs filling the Nu Do-shaped hole (sort of). The beloved Nu Do is gone, but this new spot is worth a visitâgreat service, quick turnover even with crowds, and some solid dishes. Still, Iâd be lying if I said I donât miss Nu Doâs iconic spicy-sour fried chicken⊠đ The Standouts (Worth Ordering) Pork Skewers: 5 stars, my favorite. Tender, juicy, and marinated in a sweet-savory sauce thatâs addictive. Charred just rightâthese alone make the trip worthwhile. What A Rice: 4 stars. A comforting bowl of minced pork (think âThai-style braised meatâ) and tender pork trotter over rice, with a perfectly runny egg on top. Sweet-sour, but less cloying than the signature dish. The egg? Chefâs kiss. đ The âMehâ (Or Overpriced) Wagyu What a Signature: 4 stars, but $45? Ouch. Itâs like a sweet Thai broth meets phoâwagyu is melt-in-your-mouth tender, but the flavorâs one-note (too sweet, not enough tom yum tang). Zuru Zuruâs wagyu ramen has way more depth. Splurge only if youâre curious. Thai Iced Tea: 4.5 stars. Creamy and sweet, but leans a little heavy on the sugar. Still, pairs well with spicy dishes. đ„ș A Moment for Nu Do RIP to my favorite spicy-sour fried chickenânothing here quite replaces that. But What A Soup is a solid successor, especially if youâre in the mood for casual, flavorful Thai. đ What A Soup: Bostonâs new Thai contenderâgo for the pork skewers, skip the pricey wagyu. #BostonThai #NewEats #RIPNuDo
