Today I had a body composition test at Dexa and took the opportunity to check off some Cambridge treats I'd been craving and hadn't tried before. Momma's Grocery + Wine 🍦 Maple Cone Ice Cream $5.00 I crown this the best ice cream in Cambridge! Had seen it online multiple times but never tried Enters with a subtle maple flavor – not overly sweet The texture is wonderfully soft, no icy crystals, with rich creaminess First thought: Thank goodness I don't live nearby, or I'd be eating this every day! 😱 Teaholic Seasonal Special - Persimmon Delight $8.5 Really loved the persimmon drinks from former Ugly Tea (sadly gone now 😭) Saw this online and grabbed one while passing through Cambridge Sweet, smooth persimmon with delicate fragrance I chose the lowest sugar level – not too sweet, packed with persimmon Highly recommended! 🍜 Our regular cold udon – skipping! Taiyaki NYC 🐟 Taiyaki Ice Cream (Matcha x Strawberry) $9.5 Not recommended First, the ice cream part 😅: Matcha is the bitter kind, balancing the strawberry's sweet-sourness, but lacks creamy richness. Matcha is smooth, strawberry has icy texture. The taiyaki part: Dry and hard texture, top part is crispy-brittle – maybe over-toasted under heat lamp? Not the slightly crisp yet soft texture I expect from taiyaki, interior not fluffy enough. Bottom has red bean paste – decent texture, smooth with some bean chunks.
