Boston Food | Check out the super popular Contessa

🍴 Contessa: Boston’s Hottest New Rooftop—Where Instagram-Worthy Vibes Meet Surprising Flavor This June-opened rooftop spot is Boston’s current "it" restaurant—so popular, reservations require booking weeks (or a month) in advance. We lucked into a table thanks to a connection, and while we braced for "all hype, no substance," Contessa proved us wrong: it’s both stunning and delicious. ✨ The Ambiance: Elegance with a Catch Step inside, and you’ll see why it’s a hit: every corner is meticulously styled—think polished marble, soft lighting, and (refined) decor that feels both luxe and approachable. The only letdown? It’s a rooftop, but the building isn’t tall, so don’t expect skyline views. Still, the vibe makes up for it—perfect for photos or a fancy night out. 🍝 Standout Dishes Fried Calamari • Solid, if not groundbreaking: Crispy, lightly breaded, with a zesty dip. A safe starter, but overshadowed by what came next. Spicy Lobster Pasta • The surprise star: Rich, creamy pasta tossed with chunks of lobster and a subtle kick of spice. Oddly enough, it had hints of Chinese-inspired umami—bright, bold, and addictive. We’d come back just for this. Complimentary Bites • The chef sent over a crudo (raw fish appetizer) as an amuse-bouche—great for seafood lovers, though not my cup of tea. When they noticed I didn’t eat it? They brought out buttery sautéed mushrooms instead. Thoughtful, and so good. Ribeye Steak (Medium-Rare) • A showstopper: Tender, juicy, and infused with rosemary—no dryness here. It’s flavorful enough to stand on its own, with a perfect char. I usually skip steaks at fancy spots (fear of dryness), but this beat out chain favorites like Texas Roadhouse. Salmon ・ (my boyfriend) raved about his: perfectly seared, flaky, and paired with a bright sauce that cut through its richness. 💰 The Price Tag It’s (upscale), but not overpriced. Our feast—apps, mains, drinks, and leftovers—topped out at $250, which feels fair for the quality and experience. 📍 The Details Location: 3 Newbury St (rooftop)—prime for post-shopping dinners or pre-theater drinks. Pro Tip: Book way in advance. If you can’t score a table, try the bar for a drink—even the lobby is worth a peek. #BostonRooftop #NewRestaurants #FineDining #DateNightGoals
