Boston Food Explorer Vol. 3 – Boston's Blueglass

📍 Kis o Yogurt Boston now has its own version of Blueglass! I loved this kind of yogurt back in China—though it’s not necessarily for weight loss, I still prefer it over milk tea for its lighter taste~ 🍇 Green Grape Yogurt Strong green grape flavor with real fruit pieces inside✨ The kitchen is open-view, so you can see fresh fruit being used! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🫐 Berry Yogurt Contains collagen peptides (though I’m skeptical about the benefits) and bursting pearls for a more layered texture, though fewer visible fruit pieces~ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⚠️ Both fruit flavors still taste slightly sweet even with 0% sugar added. As someone who doesn’t like things too sweet, I found it just right—my sweet-toothed friend agreed. 🥑 Avocado Almond Yogurt My friend ordered 30% sugar the first time and found it barely sweet at all. We both agreed it just tasted like almond. I could tolerate it, but my friend thought it was bad. The second time with 50% sugar was better—rich nutty aroma. Still, my friend prefers Mö Yogurt. 📍 Kozy Canteen Not many reviews of this spot. My overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Due to its location, it’s often full during meal times, but it’s decent. 🍲 Lamb Hot Pot: A bit too sweet for this Hunan native, though the lamb was tender and not gamey. 🥬 Stir-fried Cabbage: Tasty😋 but quite oily. 🍜 Stir-fried Beef Ho Fun: Okay, but didn’t meet my expectations. 💡 Overall: Good for BU students who don’t want to trek to Allston—has a homely taste. But not worth a special trip since Boston has better options. 📍 Boston University Mango Stands I found two mango stands—one on the road near GSU (very visible), the other between Questrom and CAS. I personally recommend the GSU stand—the mango is super sweet with very few fibers! Closest to what I’ve had back in China. $8 per serving is worth a try. I didn’t dare add their sauce, just chili powder—but honestly, the mango alone is fantastic! 📍 Machimachi A long-time internet favorite for good reason—top three bubble tea in Boston🧋. The milk tea tastes as expected—good mostly because others are so bad🥹. Haven’t tried their taro balls yet, but the pearls are delicious—would repurchase! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📍 Chicha San Chen Tried the King’s Milk Tea—pretty good with soft, chewy pearls. But it feels like it contains non-dairy creamer—leaves a sticky feeling in the mouth, which I’m not fond of. Still, the tea and milk flavors stand out among Boston brands. Also tried their taro balls last time—highly recommend, so tasty! Everyone should try them.
