Boston French Pastry Shop | A Little Weekly Treat I Can’t Miss 🍰
Colette Bakery is my favorite French pastry shop in Boston—I even make a special trip there once a week. I’ve visited both the Back Bay and North End locations; they’re similar in size and selection, so just pick whichever is closer! However, the daily offerings vary slightly. For example, I was amazed by the pecan financier, vanilla tart, and a hazelnut-chocolate dessert on my first visit, but I’ve never come across them again since 😢. What makes this place special is its authentic French style. Though it might not reach Parisian standards, you can tell from the first bite that it’s genuine French pastry, not an Americanized version—layers are rich and delicate, with clear, well-defined flavors. Their standout categories include: 🌰 Nut-based pastries: The Paris-Brest, for instance, has a rich, fragrant hazelnut paste with a fine, satisfying texture; the pecan financier and pecan tart are also personal favorites! 🍫 Chocolate creations: Consistently good quality—rich but not cloying. 🌿 Vanilla specialties: The vanilla flan has a prominent vanilla flavor and a smooth, creamy texture. 🧁 Canelé is another signature item, always reliable! The shell has the perfect crispness and thickness, while the inside is evenly moist and not too sweet ✨. Their pear tart and apple pie are also worth trying. The apple pie strikes a lovely sweet-tart balance with a bright apple aroma—cinnamon is just a subtle accent, never overpowering. #FrenchPastry #DessertTherapy #Patisserie #CafeSweets #BostonFood #BostonFoodDiscovery #SweetToothDiary
