Both Braised Pork and Trotters Go Perfectly with Rice 😋🍚
📍 MonGa Cafe Found a delicious Taiwanese spot in the Plaza near Bellevue’s Bai Jia area! The menu is impressively varied—from braised pork rice and beef noodle soup to all kinds of side dishes and soups, covering pretty much every classic Taiwanese home-style dish 🥢🍛. 👉 Trotter Rice – highly recommended for pork trotter lovers! The trotters are braised until tender but still hold their shape. The skin is pleasantly chewy, and the meat has a nice bite—rich in collagen yet not greasy at all. The braising sauce is just right, making it perfect to mix with rice 🐷✨. 👉 Braised Pork Rice – simple and homey in style. The pork is finely chopped with a good fat-to-lean ratio—not too sweet and not heavy. A great deal is to order their C1 or C5 combo sets! We got the C5 Combo, which also came with: A plate of Ganlian meat (still not sure which cut it is, but it was delicious — tender, slightly chewy, and super flavorful with the sauce) A small serving of braised cabbage A small bowl of pork ball soup 🍲👍 We also tried the C2 Beef Noodle Soup Combo, which lets you pick two small sides — we went with shredded potatoes and pig ear 🥔🐷. The broth was light, not too oily or salty. We chose 2/5 spice level (max is 5). The beef chunks were generous, tender, and not dry at all — very comforting with the soup 🍜❤️. 👉 Crispy Fried Chicken Leg 🍗 – another must-try! The skin is crispy and well-seasoned (savory, not spicy), while the meat stays juicy and tender. Great on its own or with rice! 👉 Drinks – they have a wide selection too. We ordered a hot Roselle Honey Tea 🍯🌺 — loved the balance of tart and sweet, and it warmed us right up. Overall, MonGa feels like a place truly dedicated to honest, home-style Taiwanese cooking. Every dish we tried was consistently tasty, whether you're dining solo or with a group 🥡👨👩👧👦. #Seattle #SeattleFood #SeattleLife #TaiwaneseFoodSeattle #TaiwaneseCuisine #StudentEats #FoodieAdventures #MonGaCafe #BraisedTrotterRice
