Brazil - Amazon Rainforest - Manaus🌴
There are plenty of daily flights from São Paulo to Manaus, taking about four hours per trip, which isn't too tiring. Manaus Airport Transportation: There are buses from the airport to the city center, with a fare of still 4.3 reais, which is quite cost-effective. Of course, you can also choose to take a taxi, which is more convenient🚕. Downtown Manaus is fairly neat, but the weather changes suddenly and it rains heavily from time to time🌧️. There aren't too many attractions to visit in the city. It's nice to walk along the Amazon River; there's a pretty imposing bridge there, and standing on the bridge to feel the river breeze is quite pleasant. Amazon Rainforest: You can't travel here independently; you have to join a tour group - there are one-day, two-day, and three-day tours available. The travel agency I booked with is called Amazon Gero Tour. I chose a three-day tour with a single room, which cost 1000 reais. Prices are likely to fluctuate during peak season, so you need to ask in advance. The activities are quite varied: rainforest hiking, looking for sloths and pink river dolphins, fishing for piranhas, camping, catching caimans, observing wild animals... Overall, it was a lot of fun, and it was worth it~ Tips for Watching Animals: Manaus is a big city, so there aren't many animals around. If you want to focus on watching animals in the Amazon Rainforest, it's recommended to go to Iquitos in Peru or other small cities, where you'll encounter more little creatures🦥. Food: The local grilled fish in the Amazon is quite famous, but I tried several restaurants and thought it was just so-so - the earthy taste of freshwater fish is really too strong, and it doesn't suit my taste. However, there are barbecue stalls on the streets in downtown Manaus at night. The skewers are a bit like those in China; take a bite with seasoning, and the taste is really good👍. Like in China, Brazil has many large shopping malls: the lower floors are supermarkets and product counters, and the top floor is often a food market. It's convenient for shopping and having a simple meal, and it's easy to get around. Accommodation: I think Ibis has a great price-performance ratio throughout South America! They're all chain hotels. If you want to save some money, choose ibis budget; if you want to stay more comfortably, choose ibis style. The probability of being disappointed is low. Also, note that there are "fake" Marriott and Hilton hotels in South America. When booking, be sure to read the introduction carefully to avoid being tricked by fakes⚠️. In general, Manaus is mainly for booking local tours to enter the rainforest; independent travel in the Amazon Rainforest is basically impossible. #IndependentTravel #Brazil #AmazonRainforest #Manaus
