Brisbane's Best Thai Food, Bar None
📍Kinn Thai REST4, Logan Rd, Upper Mount Gravatt QLD 4122 Among all the Thai restaurants in Brisbane, this one truly stands out as the best 👍. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by warm, inviting vibes—think vibrant Thai-inspired decor with colorful lanterns hanging from the ceiling, traditional wooden furniture, and soft Thai music playing in the background, making you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Bangkok 😃. ▪️ It’s definitely better than Doodee Boran. I went to Doodee Boran twice, and both experiences left much to be desired. The rice on my first visit was absolutely terrible—dry, hard, and tasting like old rice that had been stored for years, so much so that I was even worried there might be rice weevils in it [😖]. On my second trip with friends, we ordered several dishes that were also disappointing: the pad thai was overly greasy, the tom yum soup lacked that signature zing, and the service was slow and inattentive. Needless to say, I’ll never go back a third time. ▪️ Personally, I think it’s better than Pochana Brisbane too. The first time I tried Pochana, I ordered a duck dish, and wow, it was incredibly fishy [🤢]—like it had been sitting around for far too long. The smell alone was enough to put me off, and the taste was even worse. That experience left a really bad impression on me, and I don’t dare to go back a second time, no matter how many people recommend it. ▪️ At Kinn Thai, though, we ordered 4 dishes and not a single one was a letdown—each was a delicious testament to authentic Thai flavors. The grilled pork belly is absolutely amazing: it’s charred to perfection on the outside, creating a crispy, caramelized crust, while the inside remains tender and juicy, practically melting in your mouth. The marinade is a perfect balance of savory soy, a hint of garlic, and a touch of sweetness, making every bite addictive 😋. The pad thai is on par with the best versions around—stir-fried to just the right texture, with chewy rice noodles, fresh bean sprouts, chopped peanuts, and a squeeze of lime that brightens up the whole dish. The sauce is rich but not overpowering, letting the natural flavors of the ingredients shine through. Their tom yum soup is also excellent—fragrant with the aromatic trio of lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal, with just the right amount of spiciness to tingle your taste buds. The broth is rich and savory, packed with plump shrimp, tender chicken, and fresh mushrooms that soak up all the delicious flavors. To top it all off, the prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. The restaurant gets super busy in the evening with long queues snaking out the door, so it’s best to go early—around 5 or 6 pm—to avoid the wait. Trust me, though, even if you do have to wait a bit, it’s well worth it for a meal this good 🤗. #ThaiFood #HiddenGemRestaurant #RestaurantsToReturnTo #InternationalStudentFoodHunt #Australia #Brisbane #BrisbaneEats #AuthenticThai #FoodieFind
