You can go there if you are prepared to eat in food court speed. NO chatting - because you don’t have time for chatting!!! NO eating - because you don’t have for that either, just choking all the food down!!!

We booked a 6:30pm table for 12ppl to celebrate our friends’ birthday. Firstly, we arrived on time but still need to line up for our table for at least 15mins, which is fine. We were still looking forward to the dinner. We ordered the food right after we seated.

The entree came pretty fast but we waited for ages for mains. We tried our best to gobble up all the foods as we know there’s a birthday cake waiting for us.

We managed to finish all the food by 8pm, we asked for our cake, the cake arrived at our table on 8:26pm (Just the cake, no plate, no knife!!!! ) After few photos, we asked for plates and forks. The staff said we have 5 mins left to finish the cake!

But 5 mins later, a staff finally brought us plates and forks. Then, when I was about to cut the cake, a senior staff came to us and said “We are closed now, you have to leave.” We looked around, there were at least 10 tables of diners still having their dinner. We asked the senior staff if we can have 5 mins to finish the cake. The senior staff emphasised “We are closed now, you guys have to leave” rudely. We tried to reflect this experience to other staff who was in the cashier but she ignored and became rude too. We didn’t want to handle anymore rudeness, we left.

We arrived early for our table, choked down our dinner and got kicked out. Poor birthday boys can’t even have their cakes. What an experience ?! (If you haven’t experienced that before, you can give it a go. LOL)

I am definitely not a hater. I am their regular customer and like Kinn Thai a lot but not anymore...

We should read other customers’ reviews before we go. I absolutely regret to have our birthday dinner in Kinn Thai. We met the rude lady who is mentioned in other google reviews. Her bad attitude ruin our birthday dinner and we all left with bad feelings.

We really enjoyed the food. After we finished our dinner, we asked the staff to bring over our cake. Then we waited for the cake for 20 minutes. After taking photos, a staff gave us some plates and said they will close at 8:30pm, so she asked us to finish the cake in 5 minutes. It’s totally okay and we just wanted to finish it quickly. Then after 1 minute, the rude lady came over and asked us to leave immediately because it was already 8:30pm. She has the worst attitude I have never seen in other Canberra’s restaurants! We told her we just need 5 minutes and can go quickly. Then she used another 10 minutes to arguing with us. At the same time there were few tables still eating so we just don’t understand why we can’t have 5 minutes to finish the cake, especially the staff who gave us the plates promised us we have THAT 5 MINUTES. The rude lady said we should start eating the cake 15 minutes before they close, but we waited for the staff to bring over the cake for 20 minutes! Also they should know we have the cake in their fridge and should remind us 15 minutes before they closed.

Kinn Thai definitely doesn’t deserve to have so many good reviews with that poor service. We will never go back again before the rude lady...

Always love the food at Kinn Thai , but that’s not the issue . Upon arriving we were rushed to our table of 4 and was immediately asked what we wanted to drink without looking at the menu . So we ordered drinks quickly . Then was asked are we ready to order , still have not even picked up the menus . We asked for 5 minutes and please can we have our drinks . Drinks arrived and was asked if we had decided , again we were still looking at the extensive menu . We quickly ordered and the server was impatient with us . Finally we ordered as she was looking around uninterested , and we ordered , through hurriedly . Food arrives … mains before the entrees then the entrees by other servers as we tried to make room . My entree did not arrive . I asked where is my entree and they went and got it . So all in all our entire entrees - and mains arrive all at once , so the mains were getting cold . After the meals were eaten we had drinks still on the table not finished and were asked to be finished by 730 . The food as usual was good , but rushed and the mains were not warm enough as they sat while we gulped down the entrees . To spend $300 at Kinn Thai and be rushed and have service like this is unusual here , and is basically unacceptable . I hope you do something to improve the manners and attitudes of the staff you now have . This was last night 6/4/24 at 6pm and I’m happy to pass on my reservation name so you are able to address this disappointment we had...
