Budapest | Eating Hungarian Cuisine as a Feast
Huan Jie’s Curated Selections A woman who visits five hundred restaurants a year No academics, just focus on eating 🍚 This restaurant is a hidden gem with a 4.8-star rating on Google. It serves traditional Hungarian cuisine in a super cozy environment. Everything we ordered was a hit! I’m so glad I wasn’t disappointed. Starter: 🌟【Hortobágyi pancake】p3 Chicken pancake with a strange texture. The chicken paste inside even had the texture of hummus. The sauce was relatively light. Main Course: (Really, just order anything! Every meat dish here is tender and flavorful!) 🌟【Hungarian beef goulash soup】 Hungary’s national soup. A light beef, potato, and carrot soup that’s very delicious. It’s even better with bread! 🌟【Slowly roasted duck leg】p4 This duck leg is stewed to perfection, with no fishy smell. It’s delicious with the sweet and sour sauce! It also comes with a cheese pancake that melts in your mouth with a rich cheese flavor. 🌟【Beef cheek “vadas”style】p5 This beef cheek is also crispy and delicious. The bread pudding has a magical texture, with a crispy exterior and a chewy, dense interior. 🌟【Crispy oven baked pork ribs】p6 The pork ribs are first stewed and then roasted, making the inside tender and the outside crispy~ 🌟【Oven baked stuffed sour cabbage】p7 Pickled cabbage rolls stuffed with pork. This was also very delicious. The sour pickled cabbage is a great palate cleanser. This place was so good that I ate two main courses by myself and was stuffed! The service was also excellent. They even brought us wine after the meal. Maybe we shocked our Hungarian friends a little with the amount we ate. 📍 Retek Bisztro #HungaryTravel #HungarianFood #BudapestFood #BudapestRestaurants #AtmosphericRestaurant #BabyFood #RestaurantRecommendations #HiddenGemRestaurant
