Budapest | One-Michelin-Star Essencia, Totally Worth It
Last time, my friends and I dined at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Budapest. It's owned by a Portuguese man and his Hungarian wife. The staff even shared their love story – super romantic! 💕 The restaurant has an open kitchen where you can see the chefs bustling around. The wine list is also great, featuring Hungarian wines! 🍷 The appetizers were very delicate. Scallops paired with hazelnuts had a unique flavor. 🦪 There was a soup with a pumpkin base, mixed with sage and cheese. It was sweet but not cloying, very refreshing! 🥧 The cod was incredibly tender, with a special sauce that perfectly enhanced the seafood flavors. There were also some vegetables on the side, balancing the texture well. 🐟 The quail was very tender too, served with a Hungarian meat roll, which was quite filling! 🥩 For the main course, we had steak and venison. The braised meat was super tender, with a special sauce and oil-absorbing vegetables – really delicious! 🍖 One of the desserts was a pudding with an incredibly smooth texture and rich dairy flavor. 🍮 To finish, there were raspberry lollipops – very refreshing! 🍓 Per person: £120 📍 Essencia Restaurant - Tiago & Éva #Budapest #BudapestTravel #BudapestCuisine #BudapestMichelin #HungaryTravel #HungaryTourism #BudapestRestaurantReview
