🔥 Buffalo Food Diary
🔥 Buffalo Food Diary | A Sichuan Eatery I Can’t Stop Thinking About Today, a friend and I visited this well-known Sichuan spot in Buffalo— Miss Hot Cafe. We came for their signature Spicy Fish with Pork Intestine, and honestly, every dish blew us away! 🌶️🐟 Walking in, we were wrapped in that familiar aroma of mala spices~ The decor is simple and cozy, with Chinese-inspired wall art that instantly makes you feel like you’re back in China. The owner was super welcoming—when she heard it was our first time, she warmly recommended a few of their bestsellers. ❤️ We ordered three dishes, and each one was incredibly satisfying with rice: 🍲 Spicy Fish with Pork Intestine An absolute must-order! The fish was tender, and the pork intestine was cleaned well, braised until soft and flavorful. The broth was spicy, numbing, and savory—not too salty—with Sichuan peppercorns and chili perfectly balanced. We were sweating but couldn’t stop eating! 🐟🔥 The bean sprouts and wood ear mushrooms in the dish soaked up all the delicious sauce. Eating this with rice was pure happiness~ 😋 🥦 Dry Pot Cauliflower I have to rave about this one too! The cauliflower was cooked just right—slightly charred outside, still crisp inside. Dry pot style let the cauliflower soak up all the garlic and chili fragrance, with a hint of cumin—so appetizing! 🌶️🧄 Even though it’s a veggie dish, it was more tempting than meat. We finished it in no time! 🐔 “Chicken Chicken Frog Frog” (actually a combo of spicy chicken diced and frog meat) Such a cute name, lol! The spicy chicken was crispy outside, tender inside, full of Sichuan peppercorn and dried chili aroma. The frog meat was also fresh and tender, soaked in that mala goodness—impossible to stop eating once you start. 🐸💥 The two proteins together created a wonderful mix of textures and a moderate spice level, perfect for those who love! Portions here are generous—we ordered three dishes for two people and almost couldn’t finish. Ended up taking some home. Prices are fair too, about$25–30 per person, which is great value for Chinese food in Buffalo. 💰👍 After this meal, I’m already thinking about how to recreate their Spicy Fish with Pork Intestine at home~ Might not reach the restaurant’s authentic Sichuan level, but it’ll be fun to try! 👩🍳✨ If you’re in Buffalo and craving some seriously spicy, satisfying Chinese food, I highly recommend Miss Hot Cafe! And don’t forget an extra bowl of rice—these dishes are made for it! 🍚💖 #BuffaloFood#SichuanCuisine#SpicyFish#DryPotCauliflower#StudyAbroadLife#FoodDiar #EatWellToda#FoodMemory
