Business Trip to Greensboro, NC | A Week of Amazing Eats & Nearby Adve

I spent a week in Greensboro for work, and before I left, I scrolled through tons of Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) guides to plan my trip. To my surprise, the actual experience was even better than expected—not only did work go smoothly, but every restaurant I tried was a hit, and the short trips around the area were also wonderful. I basically turned a business trip into a mini-vacation! ✨ First, the Food List! 6 Great Restaurants, All Worth Trying Inka Grill (Address: 214 S Elm St Greensboro, NC 27401)I was blown away by this Peruvian restaurant on my first meal! The Lomo Saltado (Peruvian-style stir-fried beef tenderloin) was incredible—the beef was so tender it practically melted in your mouth, stir-fried quickly with bell peppers and onions, and the sauce was perfect over rice. The Tacu tacu con mariscos (seafood potato cake) was also a delight: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and soaked in seafood broth, with shrimp and squid in every bite. Even my colleague who doesn’t like potatoes was fighting over it 🦞. Jakjin Bistro Pho & More (Address: 4414 Lawndale Dr Ste F Greensboro, NC 27455)After visiting the Greensboro Science Center, we stopped by this Vietnamese pho spot on the way. The portions were surprisingly huge! The bowl was piled high with thin, translucent beef slices that cooked quickly and melted in your mouth. The broth was slow-simmered beef bone soup—add a handful of basil and a squeeze of lime, and it was so delicious I drank two bowls without feeling greasy 🍜. Eating it warmed me up from head to toe, perfect for easing the tiredness from the museum. Marisco Sayulita Nayarit (Address: 619 S Regional Rd Greensboro, NC 27409)Seafood lovers must visit this Mexican seafood restaurant! The giant mussels are a must-order—bigger than my palm, with firm, bouncy meat, coated in garlic butter sauce, so fresh I licked my fingers clean. The unexpected seafood fish soup was a hidden gem: the milky-white broth was rich, packed with shrimp, shellfish, and fish chunks. Every sip tasted like the ocean, and even the vegetables in the soup soaked up all the flavor 🥣. Thai Square (Address: 3361 Battleground Ave Greensboro, NC 27410)A paradise for Thai food fans! The pan-seared lamb chops were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a light lemongrass flavor. Cut open, the pink meat was juicy, and dipped in Thai sweet chili sauce, there was no gaminess at all. The seafood tom yum noodles were loaded with toppings—shrimp, squid, and shellfish covered the surface. The tom yum soup was perfectly spicy and sour; one bite of noodles and one sip of soup, and it was so appetizing I couldn’t stop 🍤. Village Tavern (Address: 1903 Westridge Rd Greensboro, NC 27410)We chose this spot for our team dinner after work, and the atmosphere was perfect for chatting and sipping wine. The signature steak was cooked to perfection—medium-rare, with pink, juicy meat, and paired with black pepper sauce, it was so fragrant I wanted to lick the plate. We opened a bottle of red wine, talked about things outside of work with colleagues, and all the stress from the week melted away 🍷. Chop House (Address: 4001 Meeting Way High Point, NC 27265)It’s not in downtown Greensboro, but it was totally worth the drive! The dry-aged steak was the star—crispy on the outside with a nutty aroma, tender and chewy on the inside, delicious even without extra seasoning. The roasted lamb chops were also surprisingly good: each one was coated in herbs, grilled to be juicy, and every bite was full of lamb flavor—I even wanted to suck the bones clean 🥩. Nearby Adventures! Short Trips Full of Joy Besides eating in Greensboro, we also took time to visit nearby Raleigh, Durham, and Wilmington—each place had its own surprises: Raleigh & Durham: Most museums in these two cities are free to visit! We explored the Natural History Museum and Art Museum, which had rich exhibits and were great for photos. We also went to Duke University—walking on the campus full of greenery, seeing the Gothic-style Duke Chapel and the lawn-covered Duke Gardens, we spent a whole afternoon there, and every random photo looked like a movie scene 🌿. Wilmington: We made a special trip to the beach on the last day of the business trip, and unexpectedly encountered a "freezing beach"—the sea breeze was cold enough to make us huddle up, but watching the waves crash against the rocks and the sky blend with the ocean in the distance, all tiredness disappeared instantly 🌊. It was so cold we shrank our necks, but this "cold but happy" experience was quite unique! This business trip to Greensboro was really perfect—I ate great food, had fun, and discovered that North Carolina is such a hidden gem. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, and next time I’ll definitely revisit all the restaurants I didn’t get enough of! #GreensboroNC #RaleighNC #WilmingtonNC
