Cafe Suliman Seattle - A Cozy Atmospheric Bistro Hidden in the Market
Cafe Suliman, a Middle Eastern gem tucked away in the Melrose Market on Capitol Hill, has quickly become a favorite of mine. The ambiance and food at Suliman’s are fantastic. This quaint bistro 🍷🫓🥘🥩🥕 exudes warmth and has already been graced with my presence three times. The service is top-notch and very welcoming! Here’s a taste of what I’ve tried during my three visits: Snacks: Picholine Pickled Anchovies: These tangy little fish are perfect as a starter, nicely complemented by the accompanying chili. Marcona Almonds & Aleppo: Almonds with a spicy kick, pretty standard but satisfying. Dips: Hummus, Braised Lamb, Mint & Almonds: The tender lamb with no gamey taste pairs beautifully with the hummus. The highlight is the accompanying flatbread 🫓, which is deliciously baked and perfect for scooping up the lamb. The Rest (Main Courses): Roasted Carrots, Whipped Feta: The carrots were out, so they subbed with Cauliflower, which was also delicious. The heavy flavors of this dish go well with a drink 🍻. Rockfish, Potato, Tomato, Salsa Verde: 🐟 This dish is my top pick across all three visits. The fish is incredibly tender, and the salsa verde is just right, not overpowering. The potatoes are perfectly roasted, crispy yet not dry. Highly recommended! 👍🏻👍🏻 Chicken, Alayet Bandadora: 🍗 This one is decent, the chicken is aromatic but a bit dry when you bite into it. Dessert: Dates, Sea Salt, Pistachio: The baked dates are a delightful end to the meal, with layers of flavor that hit the spot. The average cost per person is around $40. For two people, you can order a snack, a dip, and a main course, and you’ll be quite full. If the place is packed, be prepared for slower service since there’s only one chef cooking, making it ideal for a leisurely meal with conversation and drinks. 😋 #Seattle #CapitolHill #SeattleFood #CapitolHillFood #AtmosphericRestaurant #DiscoveringTreasureBistros #Bistro #SeattleBistro #SeattleLife #SeattleEats
