Calgary! Locals Love This Photo Spot! Just One Downside!
A stunning photo-worthy park in Calgary—we visited just as the late-spring blooms were ending 🌸. We chose sunset time: fewer people, and with the park facing west, the photos turned out absolutely gorgeous 🌇. 🌿 Reader Rock Garden 📍 325 25 Ave SE, Calgary 🕰 Open 24 hours 🧑🌾 A park with over 100 years of history Originally built as an experimental rock garden, it’s home to more than 4,000 plant species 🌲💐, used to test which could thrive in Calgary’s climate. Later, it evolved from a horticultural experiment base to a Canadian National Historic Site ✨. 📸 Photo Recommendations 👉 The entire park is built with stone steps going up and down, creating natural depth with its layered terrain ❗️ 👉 A cottage reconstructed to mimic Reader’s old residence—its retro British-style exterior and peaceful setting are perfect for serene, atmospheric shots. It’s 100000000/10 for great photos 👏 👉 A pond formed accidentally by water flow, surrounded by lush greenery—ideal for reflection shots and natural scenery photos 👉 City skyline view From the park’s higher spots, you can overlook Calgary’s skyline and the Stamped venue; at sunset, the views complement each other beautifully 📝 Notes: 1️⃣ Pets are not allowed in the park 🐶 2️⃣ Bring mosquito repellent! ❗️❗️ ☕️ Afternoon tea at the park Reader’s Garden Cafe offers various drinks and light snacks, open until 3 PM. If you visit during the day, you can enjoy the tranquility with a coffee ☕️ (reviews mention the service isn’t great, but the location is very pleasant). #Calgary #CalgaryLife #CalgaryNews #CalgaryTravel #StunningCityParks #CalgaryTrip #CalgaryPhotography #CalgaryWeekend #WhatToDoInCalgary #CalgaryParks
