Calgary | Amazing Thai Shaved Ice Kati Kati
It’s been so long since I’ve shared a food recommendation, but this place absolutely deserves its own post! I originally just wanted to try it out as a new shop, so I ordered their Thai milk tea shaved ice—and it completely blew me away. 👏 The owner is Thai, and that authentic Thai warmth is just chef’s kiss 🤌 👏 While there are plenty of fruit shaved ice spots in town, Thai-style is seriously hard to find. 👏 At first, I asked for less sugar because I was worried it’d be too sweet. The staff were super considerate and added extra green tea to balance it out. But honestly, it wasn’t even necessary—the tea and milk flavors were so rich, and the ice itself was top-tier. Even after eating a lot, it didn’t feel heavy. 👏 The bottom of the bowl had boba pearls, which were chef’s kiss 🤌—soft, chewy, and perfectly bouncy. It’s been ages since I’ve had boba this good! It also came with sweetened milk, nuts, and what I think was grass jelly? 👏 It was so delicious that I ended up ordering Thai milk tea and a pancake for dinner. The shop next door (run by their friends, also Thai) even brought over a plate of pad kra pao, and it instantly transported me back to Thailand. This is seriously an outstanding dessert shop. Even their free water isn’t just tap water—it’s some kind of lightly floral tea, similar to what you’d get before a Thai massage! No artificial flavors, no shortcuts. The shaved ice is made with freshly brewed Thai tea right in front of you—you can tell they put real care into it. A place like this? I’d happily pay extra because they don’t cut corners. They pour their heart into what they do, and that’s worth sharing! #Calgary #CalgaryFood #CalgaryLife #UniversityOfCalgary #CalgaryEats #Alberta #Canada
