Calgary Food Adventure Episode 008 - Shan Wei Yuan (Shaanxi Cuisine)
After weeks of drowning in assignments and exams (😵), I'm finally catching up on my food adventures! Here's a quick review of this Shaanxi noodle spot in Calgary. 📍 DL Eats 16 Ave Address: 536 16 Ave NW, Calgary, AB Parking: Street parking (good luck finding a spot!) Price: $18-25 CAD per person Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Decent, but not mind-blowing) 🍜 What We Ordered 1️⃣ Qishan Saozi Hand-Pulled Noodles (Soup Version) Noodles: Chewy, well-pulled, good texture! Broth: Slightly sour (tangy), which I liked—but might be better if they let you add vinegar yourself. 2️⃣ Pork Head Meat Unfortunately, this was a letdown. The meat had a strong oxidized oil taste (maybe just a bad batch?). Didn’t Try Yet: Roujiamo (Chinese burger) – will update if I order via Uber Eats later! 🛋️ Vibe Tiny shop, fits about 10-12 people max. More of a quick-eat spot than a "sit and chill" place. 💭 Final Thoughts ✅ Worth Trying For: The hand-pulled noodles (solid texture, unique sour broth). ❌ Skip For Now: The pork head meat (unless they fix the oil issue). Will I Return? Maybe for takeout noodles, but not rushing back. #CalgaryEats #YYCFoodie #ShaanxiFood #ChineseNoodles #StudentEats
