Canberra: Affordable and Delicious European Cuisine 🇫🇷 Escargots are
The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere with vintage decor and dim lighting, creating a great vibe 🍷 The menu is in set menu form: 2 courses for $49, 3 courses for $67, which is quite cost-effective—averaging just over $20 per dish 🙈 ➡️ Recommended appetisers: Garlic-roasted escargots and chicken liver pâté The escargots are perfectly roasted with a rich garlic flavour and are quite large in size. Paired with garlic bread, you’ll keep popping them in your mouth non-stop. The chicken liver pâté is creamy and has a layered taste when paired with wine 🍷. It also comes with garlic bread—you can spread the pâté on it, though it gets a bit rich if you eat too much. The French onion soup ordered by the table next to us smelled amazing; I’ll try that next time. ➡️ Recommended main course: Beef cheeks braised in red wine—tender and melt-in-your-mouth, and I absolutely love the sauce. ➡️ Recommended desserts: 🍐 Poire belle Hélène, a traditional French dessert. Poached pears served with chocolate sauce, ice cream, and cream, topped with fragrant almond (almond crumbs)—a delightful surprise. 🍮 Crème Brûlée, the classic caramelised custard. If you’re unsure what to choose and worried about picking a bad one, you can blindly go for this! 🍽️🇫🇷 Ondine - European Brasserie 📍 7 Duff Pl, Deakin ACT 2600 #Canberra #CanberraLife #DiscoverCanberra #HiddenGemRestaurants #DailyFood #CanberraFoodie #CanberraEats #CanberraWeekend #RestaurantRecommendations #StudyInCanberra
