Canberra: An Underrated Hidden Gem of a City

🔥🔥🔥 When talking about travel in Australia, people might first think of Sydney, the Gold Coast, or Melbourne. But Canberra, the country’s capital, also hides countless treasures. Usually, a day trip from Sydney to Canberra is rushed—leaving at 7 am and returning at 9 pm—making it impossible to deeply experience Canberra’s unique charm. This time, I’ll introduce some of Canberra’s lesser-known attractions, perfect for a leisurely visit. 📍 Australian National Botanic Gardens If you don’t feel like visiting the new Parliament House, you can spend a relaxed morning at the National Botanic Gardens. The rainforest trails and water dragons here make you feel as if you’re in a tropical paradise. National Arboretum Canberra You can roll around on the arboretum’s lawns, soak up the sun, or stare at the clouds in a daze. It’s also an excellent spot for photographing sunsets. It’s recommended to come after 4 pm, and parking is free. 📍 Alpha Magic Alpaca Farm Highlight: Every month, there’s a chance to have breakfast with alpacas—animal lovers shouldn’t miss this! You can enjoy a delicious breakfast, get up close to the alpacas, feed them, and take photos. It costs $60.00 per person and requires advance booking. 📍 Taralga Wildlife Park Here, you’ll find various Australian native animals, such as wombats and white kangaroos. You can even hold a wombat for free. Note that the zoo isn’t open every day. Admission is $22.50 per person. Kangaroo Watching at the University of Canberra Want to see kangaroos for free? The University of Canberra campus is a great place. Kangaroos roam leisurely on the grass, making it perfect for observation and photography. Kangaroos are usually more active in the morning and evening, so visiting during these times makes it easier to spot them. To prevent this guide from getting lost among countless other information, it’s recommended to save it. That way, when you have time or plan to visit Canberra, you can easily refer back to it. As someone who has lived in Canberra for over 12 years, I’ll take you to explore the hidden spots in Canberra that only locals know about, and taste local cuisine. Each itinerary is carefully designed based on your interests and schedule, allowing you to no longer be just a hurried traveler, but to truly feel Canberra’s unique charm. 💗💗💗 #YouNeedToSeeTheWorldToHaveAWorldview #Australia #AustraliaTravel #Canberra #CanberraDayTrip #CanberraTourism #UnderratedHiddenGem #VisitTheWorkVibeCity #SlowTravelTheWorld #Weekend
