🥩 Capital Prime – A Steak Lover’s Dream in Lansing! 🍷
Special food review day! Tried the famous Capital Prime in Lansing. I’d heard mixed things, but it definitely exceeded my expectations! 👏 This place specializes in seafood and steak — and let me tell you, their steak selection is EVERYTHING you could dream of 🤤. From tomahawk and dry-aged, to premium ribeye and even A5 Wagyu — they’ve got it all. That said, the cooking of these top-tier steaks lands around an 80% for me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The dry-aged was good but lacked that deep fermented/nutty flavor experts achieve. The tomahawk was impressive and uniquely fiery, but the thicker cuts were only slightly better than a good BBQ chunk 🍖. The soup? A simple tomato potato base with some added shellfish 🐚. Maybe my favorite thing (besides the steak) was actually their complimentary bread 🥖 — shiny, crispy outside, soft and chewy inside… reminded me of Shengjian bao from Shanghai’s old alleys! 😋 They also have an excellent wine list 🍷, though I’m not much of a wine person so I’ll leave that to the experts. Overall: Service was top-notch 👌, atmosphere was elegant 🕯️, and the food was solid across the board — 80% flavor score ✅. Price-wise? It varies: A5 Wagyu + fine wine → around $400+ per person (Michelin 2-star level) Prime steak with good wine → about $100 per person Normal meal without alcohol → $50-80 Still, totally worth the experience! 💰👍 #Steakhouse #LansingFood #FineDining #CapitalPrime #MichiganEats #FoodReview
