I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with our Father’s Day dinner at your restaurant with my family. We also had Father’s Day dinner last year in 2020 at your restaurant and the difference is night and day with your food and service. We expect better for a $577 meal and you should strive to not only meet but exceed your customers expectations.
Below is the what we experienced:
Following writing in the reservation request that we had 2 elderly (over the age of 80) and handicapped people with us and re-iterating this upon arrival, the hostess still proceeded to try to seat us very far away from the door and up and over some elevated walkway while someone in our party had a walker and clearly needed assistance to get to the table.
Someone in our party had a lobster tail with her steak and it was brought out cold and the butter was never lit so it was solidified on the table.
The same person with the lobster tail had a 60 day dry aged New York strip cooked well done. It had to be sent back to the kitchen TWICE as it was improperly cooked, finally coming out when everyone else was finished with their meal so they were incapable of enjoying it.
2 other guests had the 60 day dry aged New York strip. We regularly dine at fine dining restaurants and are very familiar with dry aged steaks. I can assure your steaks are NOT 60 day dry aged and tasted just as a subpar regular New York Strip. You should be ashamed to serve that to your guests and it far below what your standards should be. There is no way it is dry aged, and certainly
not 60 day. A dry aged steak has a very distinct flavor and we are very familiar with it and yours were completely devoid of this flavor.
The guest with the crab claws also did not have the butter lit so it was solidified and was not able to be used thus not allowing them to enjoy their meal.
The scallop appetizer was terrible and the scallop was almost like a small slice of a potato not even an actual scallop. Again, no one at the table liked them.
We ordered 6 pairs of scallops for the table with dinner. We were told the kitchen dropped the plate and had to remake them which doesn’t make any sense as they came out 2 to a plate. They came out after dinner was finished so again, we were unable to enjoy them.
Again, in 2020 we were so happy with our Father’s Day dinner we returned, and much to our dismay.
We are happy to escalate this to Equity Vest if necessary to let them know how you are conducting business and running your kitchen. It is unacceptable and again, you should expect better from yourselves, your staff and certainly your chef.
UPDATE!!
THEY COULDN'T HAVE...
Read moreHubby and I took a road trip on Valentine's Weekend to Lansing, MI. We researched for a really nice fine dining restaurant and came across this place which looked ideal so we decided to make dinner reservations way in advance here for Feb. 15th.
On the day of our dinner, we were headed there in the midst of a terrible snowstorm - very low visibility. The restaurant was caring enough to call and check on us to make sure we were coming soon which we appreciated. We arrived and the staff was so welcoming. We were seated at a very nice booth area. Paul was our server and he was very friendly and informative about the menu with suggestions for us for our meal.
The decor gets its own paragraph! It's SO beautiful in there. Dimly lit, wonderful ambiance and the light fixtures are unique and eye catching along with being beautiful. Great place for a date night as there were many couples there that night. They had the restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day and it was so freakin' pretty in there. They also had a red & pink balloon display (see picture) to take pictures by so we certainly took advantage of that!
I'm a foodie and can be picky because I really love good food. Each and everything we had there was delicious and perfect temperature. They brought warm rolls with butter. I had the Lavender Love Garden (Bombay Sapphire, St. Germain, lavender syrup, lemon juice which was yummy. Hubby had the Cotton Candy Rum Punch which was a very nice presentation (see video). We chose the Capital Shrimp for an appetizer which was really good. For my meal, I had the King Crab Legs that were big! Sliced in half so all you have to do is pick the delicious meat from the shell, dip in warm drawn butter and enjoy. I had the red potatoes and brussel sprouts to accompany them and they were both scrumptious! Well seasoned and nice sized portions. Hubby selected the lobster tail and asked for 2 of them. They were huge!! And delicious as he shared one with me. Even the wet towelettes that we were given were hot and were beautifully decorated on a small square dish to clean our hands. Nice touch!
We were stuffed so we took a slice of the key lime cheesecake to go. It was delicious as well. They put two mini live purple flowers on top of it which made it pretty.
Capital Prime, you made our Valentine's dinner really special. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Highly recommend this steakhouse. Not sure why this place doesn't have 4 or 5 stars overall - everything was superb for us.
A+ and keep up...
Read moreThe worse service I have ever received. I have never felt so disrespected before. Mind you I have been working in a restaurant for over 3 years so I know a thing or two about customer service. Went in with a fairly large group for a birthday celebration. One of my friends found a hair in her food (which the waitress confirms is a hair). She lost her appetite and asked that they return the food and not make her another plate. Chef comes out and states it came from a corn on the cob (there was no corn in my friend's food), offers again to make her another plate. My friend refuses, as she has lost her appetite. It was definitely a hair. Many of us had issues with our friend. Two of the chicken meals were still bloody. Another was supposed to come with shrimp yet when the plate came out there was not a single shrimp in it (they later brought out a side of shrimp). The bills come out and the friend with a hair in her food sees that the meal was left on the bill. The waitress states that since the chef says the food was fine they cannot take it off the menu. We ask to see the manager. Manager comes out and my we insist the meal be comped. Manager states that he was going to but since we demanded it he will not be comping the meal and storms off. We go after him and explain that we felt disrespected and there was no reason for his bad attitude. He finally changes his mind and agrees to comp the meal. A few people get upset that he would treat us so poorly and one stated that he might be discriminating against us. Manager hears this statement and comes running back, stating that since we think he's a racist we can pay for the meal ourselves. I want to point out that the meal was only $20. We would have paid for it and been on our way had he been respectful. After again speaking to him he agrees to comp the meal but comes back, phone in hand, demanding we leave before he calls the police. Never had we felt so disrespected and unwelcome in an establishment. The manager has no place holding the position he does. My family used to be regular customers at capital vine. We had the same table and waiter every Sunday. Unfortunately our last experience showed that the quality of food and service here has dropped dramatically. Definitely not coming back, especially not if that...
