Cara Hotel | A Meal Where You're Really Just Paying for the Ambiance

Cara Hotel is definitely one of LA’s most well-known restaurants—you’ve probably seen it all over social media. 📸✨ This time, I went purely for a meal (had other plans during the day, so didn’t dress up for photos). Turns out, that was the right call. 😅 The weather was still quite cool, so there were lots of heaters around—which made the setting feel a bit crowded. Plus, it was packed during dinner hours. For those who love taking photos, I’d recommend coming earlier in the day! ☀️ Dinner came out to around $100 per person. 💸 ~ Now, let’s talk about the food… Honestly, it’s hard to find much nice to say. Turns out all the “it’s not great” reviews were pretty accurate. Since I’d heard the food wasn’t the highlight, I played it safe and ordered pretty basic dishes. But… well, there’s no “but.” 😬 The grilled prawns were… edible. 🍤 I got a gin and tonic 🍸, my friend ordered one of their recommended cocktails—and it was pretty bad. 🥲 Anyway~ it’s not a bad spot for a date—nice for chatting and soaking in the vibe, but that’s about it. As the sky slowly darkened, the whole hotel took on this soft pink glow—very dreamy and romantic, I’ve got to admit. 💖🌙 Have you been to Cara Hotel?
