Celebrating Our 1st Anniversary in Cincinnati 💖🎉

My husband and I debated for a while about how to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We’ve pretty much explored all the nearby spots, and we didn’t feel like dealing with a long flight. So, we settled on Cincinnati — and what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be! 🏙️💫 We spent just a weekend there, loosely following a plan but mostly wandering around and discovering the city at our own pace. We loved the vibrant murals covering entire walls and admired the unique, grand architecture at every turn. One evening, we stumbled upon Washington Park, where they were screening Halloween horror movies for free until midnight! 🎃🍿 The next day, we enjoyed some live Bluegrass music at their Fall Fest — such a cozy, community vibe! 🎶 On Saturday morning, we visited Findlay Market 🥦🍖. The indoor butchers offered great prices, and outside, we found fresh produce and local treats. After that, we walked to the Cincinnati Art Museum (a bit sketchy in some areas — wouldn’t recommend walking alone!). From the hilltop where the museum sits, the view of the city was breathtaking. Cincinnati, nestled between hills and water, still bloomed beautifully even as the weather turned colder. The best part? The museum is free! 🎨🆓 Most exhibits focus on local culture and history — from women fighting for education and a place in the art world, to the city’s early pottery and woodworking traditions. You can really feel the care and thought put into preserving Cincinnati’s creative legacy. That evening, we walked across the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge 🌉, connecting Ohio and Kentucky. Watching the city lights glow while costumed runners raced below, we felt the warmth and charm of this city. And of course — the food! 🍝 We tried two amazing spots: Pepp & Dolores (Italian): Hands down the BEST Italian food we’ve had in the U.S.! We devoured the sourdough with cheese, meatballs, and two pasta dishes. Everything was perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. 5 stars! ⭐ Sago (Malaysian): Based on a friend’s recommendation, we tried the roasted duck noodles and curry chicken noodles — both were fantastic! Easy street parking, too. 🦆🍜 We didn’t have time for the zoo or botanical garden, so we’ve already added Cincinnati to our “revisit” list — I even checked out the local real estate (just for fun 😉). If you’re ever passing through the Midwest, don’t hesitate to stop and explore this underrated city! #Cincinnati #CincyLove #CincinnatiEats #MidwestUSA #AnniversaryTrip #TravelMemories
