Chang'An Tustin | The No.1 Roast Duck on the West Coast 🦆
Located near Newport in Orange County, this is the first U.S. branch of the Vancouver-original Chang'An. It offers a Michelin-level take on Shaanxi cuisine — perfect for those who love upscale Chinese dining or hosting guests. ▫️ Ambience: 5/5 The interior is absolutely stunning — Palace Museum vibes with elegant traditional decor. You can tell the owner put real thought into creating a space that reflects Eastern culture. ▫️ Cuisine: Shaanxi-style They serve classic dishes like cold skin noodles and roujiamo (braised pork buns). We tried their famous roast duck, which is flambéed with baijiu (Chinese liquor) — a unique touch! Personally, I’d say it rivals the renowned Da Dong in Beijing 🦆🔥. We also ordered lamb chops and lychee shrimp balls — both were delicious and safe choices. For carbs, we went with the wontons in duck broth — my favorite dish of the night! The broth was rich and savory, and the wontons were perfectly filled. ▫️ Reservations Book 1–2 days in advance by phone. Be sure to pre-order the roast duck when reserving — it’s easy and recommended. ▫️ Drinks The drink menu is thoughtfully curated. That day, we tried the peach green tea — light, refreshing, and subtly fragrant 🍑🍵. 📍 Address: 13051 Newport Ave, Tustin, CA 92780 #PekingDuck #MichelinStyle #ChineseFineDining #LAEats #IrvineFood #LAChineseFood
