Channel Islands Day Trip: A Wild & Mini Escape šļø
Just revisited my late September trip to the unreal Channel Islandsāthis time exploring East Anacapa, the tiniest of the islands! šŗļø Though it looks small on the map, it took us over 2 hours to walk around the whole island + take photos. For first-timers, this island is a must. Compared to Santa Cruz, Anacapa feels wilder, rawerālike a true deserted island experience. šæ We set off from Oxnard Harbor āļø under a moody, misty sky. The first thing that caught our eyes? That central building that looks like a prison šābut really, itās just an abandoned cabin. And ohāthe seagulls! šļø Never seen so many in one place. Feathers covered the trails like confetti⦠but watch your head (and shoulders)! š We booked our ferry with Island Packers š¢āa no-shade ride, so sunscreen is a must! The 1.5-hour journey was full of excitement: our guide helped everyone scan the ocean for whales. We didnāt spot any this time, but a playful pod of dolphins swam alongside us š¬āso worth it! Plus, before heading back, the boat took a scenic loop around the island. 10/10 experience! š If you're craving raw nature, quiet trails, and that āstranded in paradiseā vibeāthis is your place. Not too far from LA or Irvine, but feels worlds away. š #ConnectWithNature #ChannelIslands #SouthernCalLife #IslandLife #DesertedIslandVibes #HealingIsland #TravelTips #IslandGoals #LAaround #IrvineTrips #CaliforniaCoast #WildAndFree
