Charlotte, NC Travel Guide + 😏 Real Talk
There are way too many travel guides and reviews out there, and most of them read like magazine ads 😒. Here’s some real feedback and tips for girls who plan to visit—take notes and avoid the traps! 👀💡 But first, I’ve got a BIG question: Why don’t restrooms in North Carolina and South Carolina have seat covers?? 😳 As a kid from California, I walked into the airport bathroom and was shook. Had to DIY it with toilet paper. 🧻🤷♀️ 🏰 Attractions: 1️⃣ Freedom Park: A cute little park—takes about 10+ mins to walk around. There’s a small fountain, and lots of people jog or walk their dogs in the morning 🐕🌳. Perfect for a chill morning or evening stroll. 2️⃣ NASCAR Hall of Fame: Not super big—three floors with exhibits about races, cars, uniforms, history, etc. 🏎️ Worth it if you’re into racing! 🏁 3️⃣ Mint Museum: I went to the Uptown location. As an art student, I loved it! 🎨 The exhibit space isn’t huge (only floors 2 and 3 are open to the public). The second floor has a cool Maya-themed gallery with lenticular art and glasswork—so unique and Insta-worthy. There’s also a huge stained glass-style wall. 📸✨ 4️⃣ Optimist Hall: Basically a food court with lots of options and always busy 🍜🛍️. There are two cute boutiques in the corner. Parking is cheap though—free for the first hour or two. 5️⃣ Charlotte Uptown: The streets are pretty and clean… but there are barely any shops 🏙️😴. Just a few restaurants and a whole lot of office buildings. I went on a Sunday and it was DEAD. Most people on the street were Black. Besides a few photo spots near the museums, there’s not much to do. If it’s hot or raining, just drive around—not worth a long city walk.
