Charlotte Chinese Food | Trying Another New Spot 🍽️
Flame Bistro&Bar 🔥 After being disappointed by Charlotte’s Chinese food scene, I’d basically stopped going to new spots… but I couldn’t resist the hype around this new restaurant—especially since they have smoked fish! 🐟 Apps Seaweed-Flavored Calamari: The oil tasted old, with a bitter aftertaste 😣. Seasoning was just generic BBQ powder—meh. Shanghai Smoked Fish: So good! Sweet-savory, bones fully infused with flavor—would order again in a heartbeat 👌. Main Dishes Malaysian Char Kway Teow: Wok hei on point! 🔥 Perfectly seasoned—if their chow mein or fried rice is this good, they’re onto something. Amber Crispy Roast Duck: Well-roasted, juicy, and flavorful—solid Cantonese-style duck 🦆. Cantonese Scallion Chicken: More like plain poached chicken… Let’s be real—American chicken is always tough, no mtter how hard chefs try 🐔. The ginger-scallion sauce? Worse than mine—ended up repurposing the chicken into salted chicken congee at home 😂. The menu made me wonder if they poached chefs from Malaya Kitchen or Open Rice… But it’s in a residential area—maybe they’ll pivot to neighborhood-friendly dishes? Either way, I won’t be rushing back. 📍 10223 Mcintyre Rdg Rd, Pineville, NC #CharlotteFood #CharlotteChinese #NorthCarolina #CharlotteNC #FoodieAdventures #ChineseFood #CharlotteEats #AsianFoodCharlotte #NCEats #CharlotteFoodie #LifeInUSA #CharlotteTravel #FoodCritic #CharlotteDining
