Charlotte Food Find | Triple C Brewing Co. š»
Charlotte Food Find | Triple C Brewing Co. š» Stopped by Triple C yesterday eveningāitās right across the street from Suffolk, just a block away! This areaās packed with little breweriesāyou can stumble into one every few steps, so fun š. The beer menuās available on Untappd, so I locked in my first drink right away: a red ale called Float On š·. It had a rich reddish-amber hue, with aromas and flavors super close to an amber lagerāthink malt and herbal notes, clean and crisp šæ. A touch more depth from darker malts than a typical amber lager, but still a bit rough around the edges. 76/100 š! While ordering, a guy stood next to meāI didnāt notice he was in brewery gear at first, thought he was just a fellow drinker š. āFirst time trying this?ā he asked. āFirst time here, actually!ā I said. He looked confused Iād called the beer by name, so I explained Iād checked Untappd beforehand. āDo you hunt for high-rated beers on there?ā he laughed. āNot just ratings,ā I said. āI go by style descriptionsāratings are just a hint. You gotta taste it to know!ā š¤·āļø Turns out heās Brad, the breweryās sales rep! We chatted for ages about beerāhe was fascinated by Chinaās craft beer scene, and I filled him in. He was shocked, eyes wide š! Funny enough, he used to be obsessed with hazy IPAs but now craves lighter, cleaner beers. Seems like craft beer journeys are similar everywhereāweāre all on the same vibe š¤. He asked if I wanted a brewery tourāhell yes! 𤩠Even though itās a local microbrewery, my first time seeing a craft setup was mind-blowing. Compared to homebrewing gear, the industrial equipment felt huge, precise, and powerfulāso cool, like something out of a sci-fi movie š ļø! They even had tons of oak barrels for aging, no detail missed. (Check my last post for tour clipsāso worth watching š„!) After the tour, I went for my second pick: Bourbon Barrel Aged Up All Night, a barrel-aged imperial porter š„. Pitch-black, totally opaqueālike liquid midnight š. The bourbon barrel notes were clear but not overpoweringāBrad said it only aged a year, which tracks. Chocolate, coffee, a hint of honey sweetness, and a touch of milkinessāsuper balanced, with alcohol hidden like a pro. 80/100 š«! Hard to tell it apart from an imperial stout, tbhāmaybe a tiny bit lighter in body than average stouts, but far from watery. Smooth as silk! While sipping, a friendly regular in a wheelchair, Bill, joined the chat š¤. Total beer geekāheās logged over 1,000 beers on Untappd! His faves? Stouts and sours. He recommended a local sour spot, HopFlyāIām adding it to my list ASAP š. By the time I finished, they started triviaāa super popular game here, with teams competing fiercely š§ . I had no clue what was going on, so I waved goodbye and headed out. Such a fun, unexpected night! #CraftBeer #Charlotte #NorthCarolina #LifeInUSA #NorthCarolinaUSA #CharlotteTravel #CharlotteFood #CharlotteChineseFood
