Charlotte HopFly 🍻
First heard about this spot from Bill (the beer geek I met at Triple C), then saw it recommended on Xiaohongshu too—definitely a must-visit for sour beer lovers [wink] 😜 Hit up HopFly last Saturday after grabbing burgers with friends in Uptown (we had to revisit that amazing American burger joint from two weeks ago 🍔). I came specifically for sours—spotted "blueberry" and immediately blind-ordered the Pastry Sour: Blueberry Cheesecake Blender. The beer poured a deep purple grape hue 🍇—stunning! The aroma? So unique. First hit: intense blueberry fruitiness—thick, rich, nothing like the faint berry scents you usually get. Then, creamy cheesecake sweetness—like walking into a bakery 🧀. Taste-wise, the body was surprisingly thick—chewy, almost, unlike the watery fruit sours I’m used to. Not "sludgy" like a fruit puree, just packed with flavor. Every sip tasted like a bite of blueberry cheesecake—sweet, tangy, and decadent. It was so rich, I had to sip slowly, like savoring a dessert 🍰. Sweetness and acidity were balanced perfectly—only tiny flaw: a slightly tart finish with no lingering aftertaste. This is not a "light sweet drink"—it’s a bold, indulgent treat. Super interesting experience, 83/100 🌟! Wanted to try more, but we got there too late—finished my beer as the sun set, so we had to bolt. Will definitely be back for round two! #Beer #CraftBeer #CraftBeerTastingNotes #CharlotteFoodie #CharlotteCraftBeer #CharlotteBrewery #CharlotteExploration #CharlotteDiary #HopFly #CharlotteNC #CharlotteTravel #CharlotteFood #CharlotteChineseFood
