🍣 Charlotte Omakase Kappo En Review

Went in with zero expectations (since Charlotte’s known as a food desert 😅)—but overall, it’s worth trying for the Queen City! Tucked inside Menya Ramen, $185/person pre-tax. The chef’s from Philly—no wonder the quality’s solid (Philly’s food scene is chef’s kiss 🌟)! 🍶 Appetizers: Meh, a Bit Underwhelming Three dishes served all at once—so unrefined, I was shook 😂. Red miso eggplant: Basic. Tofu mushroom puree: Nothing special. Lobster claw: Tasted like it was seasoned with lobster roe—the best of the bunch, but that’s not saying much. 🍣 Sushi Round 1: Hit-or-Miss, Mostly Miss Silver fish were meh, but tuna saved the day later!Seabream: No memory of it—bland, not fresh 🐟.Bluefin tuna (lean): Average, standard sushi spot level. Scallop: Yuzu-seasoned but too salty. Also… scallop at this price? Very Charlotte 🤷♀️. Cornetfish: First time trying! Rice fell off when I picked it up—fail 😱. Told the chef, and he tightened the rice for the rest… I laughed so hard 😂. At least he fixed it?Striped Jack: Best of Round 1! Fresh, sweet, and tender—loved it, and you can order seconds 👏.🥣 Mid-Meal Surprise: ChawanmushiWith seabream inside—another shocker 😂. 🍣 Sushi Round 2: Way Better! Golden Eye Snapper: Delicious (hard to mess up). Kinda wanted it grilled, but oh well 🐠.Medium Fatty Tuna: Great! Quality started going up here 🥩.Barracuda: Never had it before—fancy torching, but texture was meh 🔥.Hokkaido Uni: Chef’s kiss! Creamy, sweet, icy—perfection 🍦.Fatty Tuna: Obsessed! Melts in your mouth, so rich 🥩✨. 🍶 More Apps? Fried tofu mushroom soup: Too salty 🥣. Wagyu with fried lotus chips: Seared wagyu was divine, but chips were a weird add—didn’t complement or cut grease. Just… there for looks? 🥩🥔. 🍮 Dessert: 10/10! Sweet potato brown sugar panna cotta with sencha—so good, I’d come back just for this 🍠🍵. #CharlotteEats #CharlotteNC #Omakase #SushiLovers #FoodieReview #NorthCarolina #CharlotteFood #SistersTrip
