Intimate Omakase Experience in Braga
If you're searching for an extraordinary culinary journey in Braga, the Omakase Japanese restaurant is an absolute must-visit. My recent dining experience there was nothing short of spectacular, truly epitomizing the art of Japanese gastronomy by Chef Michael Choi.
Nestled in a quaint, traditional Japanese space, this small and intimate restaurant provides a personalized and immersive experience. The minimalist decor, accented with subtle Japanese elements, creates a serene and inviting atmosphere, making you feel as if you’ve been transported to Japan.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the omakase premium menu 4th level, a chef's selection that takes diners on a gastronomic adventure. Each dish was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted and presented with a keen eye for detail. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were evident in every bite, showcasing the chef's dedication to excellence.
The progression of flavors was perfectly orchestrated, moving from lighter, more subtle tastes to richer, more complex ones. Highlights included the buttery toro (fatty tuna) and the exquisitely sweet uni (sea urchin).
The sushi was equally impressive, with each piece a harmonious balance of flavors and textures. The rice, seasoned just right, complemented the pristine slices of fish atop it. The chef's skill in combining ingredients was evident in every piece, from the traditional nigiri to the more inventive, contemporary creations.
The service was impeccable, with the staff providing attentive and knowledgeable guidance throughout the meal. Their passion for the cuisine and dedication to ensuring a remarkable dining experience was palpable. In such a cozy setting, the interaction with the chef and staff felt more personal and engaging, enhancing the overall experience.
In conclusion, Omakase in Braga offers a dining experience that transcends the ordinary. It’s a celebration of Japanese culinary artistry, where each dish tells a story of tradition, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi aficionado or a newcomer to Japanese cuisine, this restaurant promises a meal that you will remember long after the last bite. Highly...
Read moreI'm a fan of Japanese food, and I have had a lot of experiences in many Japanese restaurants in different countries, this is the first time I feel shocked of the service we received.
We were accepted when we arrive although we did not make reservation in advance, actually i did call earlier but nobody answered the phone, so I assumed we can go there directly.
We came back from Vigo where is much colder, so we just wanted to eat some hot food such as Ramen. What happened later was a big surprise, the service we received was so different from the other guests. They discriminated the guests who ordered the least. The priority is the guests who ordered the most expensive menu. Everybody sits on the counter, we do not have choice to sit on table. You can see the chef keep talking with the other guests and ignore us there because we only ordered two Ramen. He welcomed all the other guests, shaked hands with them except us just like we didn't exist. Equality and respect do not exist in this restaurant, you are differentiated depending on the money you spend, it's a humiliation in front of all the other guests, especially when i brought my child with me.
Trust me, the quality of the food does not deserve the price they charged because i have been to so many Japanese restaurants, i know pretty well what's the classical taste of Japanese food. The taste is pretty normal even below normal. The chef spoke very poor Japanese although he liked to show off his Japanese and his limited understanding of Japanese culture. Typical Japanese restaurant never humiliates their clients like this one. I never had the same bad experience in any other restaurant in whole Europe, nor in any other countries that i had been to. No matter how much you spend, you always receive the same service in other places.
I do not recommend this restaurant unless you don't mind you maybe treat differently. Even if you are the one being treated with previlige, you will not feel comfortable to see the other people being treated so badly in front of your eyes just because they order less...
Read moreBest sushi I've ever had, even better than in Japan! Chef Michael Choi is clearly a master of the craft. His technique is as true to the tradition as any that I've seen, but his creations are much more creative and delicious than I've had from other world class sushi chefs. The dining experience was also far and away more fun than any other meal we've had, even at Michelin star restaurants. We got to take part in the sushi making process and learn about traditional techniques in a close personal experience unlike anything we've ever had before. The atmosphere was very fun and inviting, and we made quick friends with the other guests. The chef also made a spiced sake that was easily the best sake I've ever had. Their cocktails were delicious as well, but the spiced sake was out of this world. Overall, I can't speak highly enough of Omakase and Chef Michael Choi. I've had a LOT of sushi across Asia, North America, and Europe, and if I could have any of them again, I would definitely go here. Next time we visit Portugal, I expect that we'll make a trip to Braga just for this. I very highly recommend the highest class Omakase, as it's the best you're likely to get on the whole planet. Braga is a very lucky city to have such...
