Chattanooga 2-Day 1-Night Trip | A Hidden Gem Full of Highlights! 🪨✨
I recently spent a day and a half in Nashville and another day and a half in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Personally, I think Chattanooga is a true hidden gem 🏴☠️—so many fun and beautiful spots! A day and a half is plenty of time to explore since the city is compact, and most attractions are close to downtown. 1️⃣ Rafting (~3 hours) This activity isn’t right in Chattanooga, but it’s totally worth the trip! 🚣♂️ It’s about an hour away in Ocoee. There are many rafting companies—I chose Raft One 👆. The experience was thrilling and super fun! The whole trip took around 3 hours. A bit risky though—both my husband and I fell into the river 😹 📌 Key tips: 👉 Do NOT bring anything that isn’t strapped to you—not even a waterproof neck pouch! 🫷 👉 Note: Nashville is in a different time zone (1 hour behind). If coming from Nashville, plan your time carefully! ⏳ (I almost missed my booking because of this!) 2️⃣ Rock City Gardens (~2-3 hours) Highly recommended! This unique park ⛲️ takes you through narrow passages between massive rocks—a bit claustrophobic but exciting! 🗻 At the top, the view is absolutely stunning. The “See 7 States” marker is a iconic highlight. The whole walk takes about 2 hours. Better to book tickets early—it’s cheaper and helps avoid long lines! 3️⃣ Ruby Falls (~1.5 hours) If visiting on a holiday, book tickets in advance! 🎫 They’re strict about entry times—even if you arrive early, they might not let you in. When I tried to exchange tickets, they were sold out. The tour isn’t very long, but waiting for returning groups and listening to the guide makes it take a while. 4️⃣ Incline Railway (~40 minutes) Tickets are round-trip 🎟️. Best to visit in autumn 🍃 or cooler weather. There’s no AC in the train 🌬️, so it can get stuffy on the way up. But it’s known as one of the world’s steepest passenger railways! 🛤️ The last segment feels like a roller coaster. If you feel unwell, you can take the elevator back down. 🛗 5️⃣ The Passage (~20 minutes) A very unique spot in downtown—a beautiful water staircase. 🪜 Perfect for photos! 6️⃣ Walnut Street Bridge An iconic blue bridge 🌉 that’s open only to pedestrians. Great for walking and taking pictures! 📷 7️⃣ Rosie Mae‘s Coffee I’m counting this as an attraction too—it’s a coffee shop with alpacas! 🦙 You can enjoy coffee and pet alpacas. How could this not be a highlight? Final thoughts: Chattanooga is a super fun city with great value! 💰 The only downside: not many great food options. 🍽️😅 #Chattanooga 🏞️#ChattanoogaTravel 📍#Tennessee 🧭#TravelTips 💡#HiddenGems 💎
