Check-in|Irvine’s Zi Wei Xiao Mian 🍜

When it first opened, the line was crazy long — stretching all the way back! But surprisingly, what really wowed me wasn’t the noodles… it was the Fermented Rice Glutinous Rice Balls (Lao Zao Tang Yuan)! 🥣 Fermented Rice Glutinous Rice Balls With goji berries and osmanthus flowers, plus a poached egg — lightly sweet, fragrant, with a hint of rice wine aroma. The mini tang yuan are filled with black sesame — so comforting and warm. Absolutely loved this dessert! 🍜 Chengdu Zhajiang Noodles Generous minced pork topping, noodles were springy and satisfying. Flavor was savory and spicy — medium spice was just right. Highly recommend! 🥟 Zhong Dumplings (in chili sauce) Pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. 🎃 Fried Pumpkin Cake — Just okay, tasted mostly like fried dough without much pumpkin flavor. 🍳 Steamed Egg with Pork Topping — Also just fine, wouldn’t reorder. 🧊 Savory Tofu Pudding — Honestly a bit of a miss for me. BTW, the staff were really friendly and attentive! 👍 📍 Location: Right below Din Tai Fung at South Coast Plaza. #LAEats #LALife #LAArea #IrvineChineseFood #IrvineLife #IrvineEats #IrvineArea #IrvineFinds
