Check-in at Tokyo Sando
When I stepped into "Tokyo Sando" with friends today, the atmosphere immediately caught my attention. The walls were adorned with neon signs and Tokyo-themed decorations, creating a vibrant setting โจ. The owner, wearing a Japanese-style apron, greeted us with a warm smile that made us feel right at home โบ๏ธ. However, the food revealed a different story - while presenting Japanese aesthetics, the flavors leaned strongly toward American preferences. Every sandwich contained surprisingly sweet sauces, as if tailored for Western taste buds ๐ฏ. The signature ใTokyo Gyoza Scotch Eggใ looked magnificent with its crispy exterior and runny soft-boiled egg center ๐ฅ. Yet the overpoweringly sweet glaze made it difficult to appreciate the ingredients themselves, which was rather disappointing ๐. The main attraction ใMiso Pork Cutlet Sandoใ appeared generously portioned with the large breaded cutlet visibly overflowing from the toast ๐ธ. Even after requesting less sauce, the dominant sweetness remained. The pork itself was somewhat tough and average in quality, falling short compared to similar offerings elsewhere ๐ฆ. This place undoubtedly excels in photogenic presentation. Each sandwich is beautifully arranged, and the interior design provides perfect backdrops for food photography ๐ท. But those seeking authentic Japanese flavors might leave somewhat disappointed. The heavy-handed sweetness tends to overshadow other flavor nuances. I hope the shop considers refining their recipes for better balance ๐. As we departed, the owner kindly saw us off at the door. While the food didn't quite match my personal taste preferences, the cozy atmosphere and thoughtful decoration made this food exploration a memorable experience ๐. #PortlandFood #PortlandTravel #PortlandFoodCart #Oregon #MustEatPortland
