Checked in at Mint Museum Uptown/Randolph in Charlotte
šVisited the Mint Museum for free with the BOA Museum on US offer. It has two locations, both free at the same time. The downtown location recently had an additional paid Picasso exhibition, but I didnāt want to spend ten bucks to see Picassoās work because Iāve seen his paintings in various art galleries before. Picasso was prolific; there are a lot of his works in circulation. šI prefer the tranquility of Randolph to the hustle and bustle of the city. Near the park in front of Randolph, you can see houses of the old middle class. The Randolph building is quite old, and the exhibits werenāt anything special, kind of reminded me of elementary school field trips. šHowever, this street is lined with hospitals, so the area is nice. Overall, neither of the Mint Museum locations had exhibits that I found particularly worth seeing; it was a bit like having a dish thatās neither here nor there. Since it was free, it was just the cost of downtown parking, which was okay. šRight next to the Mint, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art seems to be closed at the moment. I checked it out three years ago, and it was another place that left me feeling neither here nor there, but you feel like youāre missing out if you donāt go. šThe nearby Museum of Illusions - Charlotte is probably the most worth visiting, great for photos. Itās just opened a few months ago, so it can be quite crowded. šA lot of people recommend Jinya Ramen next to Illusion. The sophisticated office workers in the building have lunch there. Iām waiting for the South Park branch to open, donāt want to pay for parking to go into the city for ramen. #Charlotte #Charlotte #NorthCarolinaCheckIn #NorthCarolinaTravel #NorthCarolina
