Cincinnati, Ohio Travel Guide 🌳🏛️🌉
Spring Grove Cemetery ⛲🌿 By day, this cemetery feels more like a vast, serene park — lush, tree‑lined, and tranquil. It’s one of America’s oldest and largest cemeteries, with around 175 years of history. This is also where the “landscape‑lawn cemetery” concept originated — once considered a radical design, later adopted nationwide. Many horticulturists visit for inspiration. The name “Spring Grove” comes from the natural springs that irrigate the trees. Many notable figures are buried here, including President William Henry Harrison, Civil War generals, artists, musicians, and activists, drawing visitors from everywhere. The grounds span over 340 acres, so the staff kindly asked if we wanted directions to any specific graves. It was my first time seeing such artistically designed memorials — highly recommended if you’re open to visiting a cemetery. 💡 Tip: Stop by the visitor center for a map and tour by car. Cincinnati Music Hall 🎶🏛️ The exterior is grand and imposing, though the interior is locked unless there’s a performance. ⚠️ Parking: We couldn’t find dedicated parking — just paused briefly for photos out front. Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption ⛪✨ A majestic cathedral — incredibly photogenic, especially in warmer months when flowers bloom around it. Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains ⛪🏛️ A Greek‑Revival style Catholic church with a distinctive interior unlike typical cathedrals. Closed Sat‑Sun; open for visits on weekdays. ⚠️ Parking: Street parking nearby, ~$2/hour. John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge 🌉💙 An iconic Cincinnati landmark — a historic suspension bridge spanning the Ohio River. When it opened in 1866, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. 📸 Best photo spot: Rooftop/viewing area of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. #TravelUSA #Cincinnati #OhioTravel #HistoricSites #Landmarks #ExploreCincinnati 🇺🇸📷
