Cincinnati | Accidentally Ate the Best Japanese Ramen Ever! π
The famous Cafe Mochico is a true hidden gem β serving bakery sweets in the morning and transforming into a Japanese ramen shop at night! Their ramen menu changes weekly and updates fast β follow their IG for the latest offerings. Heads up: π Hours are limited β check before you go! π No reservations β walk-in only! π₯ Be early β lines form fast! We visited for dinner. They open at 5:00 PM, but we arrived around 4:30 PM and there was already a small crowd (yes, on a Sunday!). By 5:00 PM, the place was completely full β about 15 tables + counter seating. You grab a menu when you enter, sit down, and order when ready. Hereβs what we tried: 1οΈβ£ Cincinnati-Style Ramen If youβve tried Skyline Chili, youβll get it β a brilliant fusion of local flavor and Japanese ramen! The broth is rich and slightly spicy with a hint of tomato π , loaded with meat sauce and cheese π§ β incredibly satisfying! 2οΈβ£ Shoyu Ramen A classic Japanese ramen done right! Comes with a soft-boiled egg, tender chashu, scallions, and greens. The soy-based broth is delicate yet flavorful, and the noodles are cooked perfectly β felt like we were back in Japan π. 3οΈβ£ Pork Katsu Sandwich The bread is a Hokkaido milk toast β buttery and fluffy π. The pork cutlet is super juicy and tender inside, crispy outside. Includes mayo, pickles, and greens (I skipped the pickles π₯). Served with a side of cool potato salad β lightly salted and delicious. 4οΈβ£ Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) We devoured this the second it arrived β our first appetizer and an instant favorite! Four generous boneless chicken pieces β crispy outside, juicy inside. A squeeze of lemon π cuts the richness, and the mayo dip is the perfect match. Next time β weβre definitely coming early to try their bakery items! π #CincinnatiEats #OhioFoodie #HiddenGem #JapaneseRamen #RamenHeaven #CafeMochico #NoReservations #FoodieReview
