Cincinnati Food|Louisiana Flavors in OTR
Nolia Kitchen is a cozy and beautifully decorated restaurant located in OTR. After chef Jeffery Harris—originally from Louisiana—was nominated for a James Beard Award, getting a reservation here has become even more challenging! 🏆✨ The open kitchen sits right at the center of the dining room, so you can watch everything come together right before your eyes. The menu highlights Southern American flavors and changes with the seasons. Ever since I tried their roasted rabbit leg last year, I’ve been dreaming about it… and finally made it back just before the winter menu wrapped up! 🐇❤️ With four of us, we ordered a bit more than usual (but honestly, not by much 😄). From the cold dishes: Crudo – delicate slices of white fish, tender and fragrant, paired with blood orange for a refreshing start. Pear Salad – crisp, light, and perfectly dressed. Seasonal Special: Asparagus & Mushrooms – a mushroom lover’s dream! The king oyster mushrooms scored beautifully were my favorite. 🍄💖 Roasted Cauliflower – colorful, flavorful, and studded with raisins for a sweet touch. Mains we savored: Duck Leg – juicy and richly flavored (though I still miss that rabbit leg 🐇😉). Fried River Catfish – crispy outside, tender inside, topped with crawfish tails 🦞 – tasted almost like gourmet fried chicken! Leeks & Cassoulet – a cozy white bean stew with leeks, loved even by our meat-eating crew! We saved room for dessert: Coconut Mango Sorbet 🥥🥭 Red Velvet Cake 🍰 Both were absolutely delightful! With drinks, our meal came to around $60 per person (just for reference!). A lovely detail: the back of the menu features a beautiful pelican design 🐦—Louisiana is known as the Pelican State, and you can feel that thoughtful touch throughout. If you’re intrigued, book ahead—walk-ins are nearly impossible, and in my experience, it’s even harder to get into than Sotto! 📍 Address: 1405 Clay St, Cincinnati, OH 45202 Wishing you all happy and delicious meals! 🍚🍽️ #Cincinnati #CincinnatiEats #OTR #NoliaKitchen #SouthernCuisine #JamesBeard #FoodieReview #WeekendEats #EatLocal 🥘🎉
