Cincinnati Food Review|French Bistro Colette
On a bit of a French food kick lately 😂—finally made it to Colette, a cozy French bistro in OTR, located right where Zula used to be (still missing their mussels 🥲). It's close to Washington Park, and the snail sign out front is pretty eye-catching 🐌. We started with their brioche dinner roll—rich, buttery, and fragrant. One was plenty for two! All their pastries are outsourced to Sebastian Bakehouse (which I love!), so quality is top-notch, though at $4.50 per roll, it feels a bit steep for a starter. Nicola’s bread service offers way better value, and let’s be real—most restaurants serve excellent complimentary bread! But I guess with outsourcing, cost control makes sense. We tried the weekend special: white asparagus 🤍. I’ve always wondered—is white asparagus just peeled green asparagus? 🤔 Anyone know? This dish was tasty, served with generous chunks of crab meat and a clever, rich sauce (we guessed there might be egg yolk in it—creamy but not heavy). Feels like something we could try recreating at home! Their signature burger 🍔 came on a Sebastian Bakehouse bun—light and airy—and they kindly split and plated it for us since we were sharing. The beef patty was cooked medium-well (you can choose your preference), and the fries were crispy and not greasy at all—big win! 🍟 We also ordered the much-raved-about ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese—unique and delicious! A must-try for pasta and cheese lovers (though fair warning: it’s a tad oily, but hey, that’s French bistro charm 😆). For drinks, I went with a non-alcoholic cocktail garnished with candied ginger—refreshing and fun! 🍸 No room for dessert this time… next visit for sure! 📍 Colette Address: 1400 Race St, Cincinnati, OH 45202 #Cincinnati #FrenchCuisine #CincinnatiEats #OTR #FrenchBistro #WeekendEats #FoodReview #BurgerLove #NoDessertLeftBehind 🥖🍷✨
