City Walk: One-Day Trip in Lyon 🚠
Lyon is a place where you must make reservations!!! Especially for dinner—no matter what you plan to eat, booking ahead is a must! Most places just need a day’s advance notice, but trust me, RESERVE!!! This is a lesson learned the hard way 😭 1️⃣ Place Bellecour - The Little Prince Statue At the southwest corner of Place Bellecour, you’ll find the statue of the Little Prince and his author 📚 2️⃣ Funiculaire de Lyon The cable car goes straight up the hill, with two directions: one to the church and the other to the museum 🚡 3️⃣ Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière No tickets needed to enter the basilica itself, but if you want to go up to the rooftop, you’ll need to book and buy tickets in advance. Recommend reserving at least a week early! ⛪ 4️⃣ Théâtre Gallo-Romain The museum has both indoor and outdoor sections, taking around 2-3 hours to explore. After visiting the 5th-floor indoor exhibits, you’ll head straight to the outdoor Roman theater ruins 🏛️ 5️⃣ Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste After exploring the hill, you can walk down or take the cable car. The cathedral is free to enter—just walk right in ⛪️ 6️⃣ Musée Cinéma et Miniature Lyon’s Cinema and Miniature Museum is full of famous movie props and intricate miniature scenes. It even has the car signed by the Harry Potter cast! The staff were super nice and let me sit inside to check out the interior 🎬 7️⃣ Fresque des Lyonnais The iconic mural wall—don’t miss it! 🎨 8️⃣ Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon Allow about 2 hours for this art museum, which features works by renowned painters like Monet and Degas 🖼️ #France #Lyon #OneDayInLyon #travel #WanderingTheWorld #ExploringSmallCitiesSlowly #citywalk #HometownOfTheLittlePrince
