Cleveland Dam & Capilano River Hike (Part 1) 🌲💦
Today’s rec: A chill but stunning trail in North Vancouver, combining the Cleveland Dam, salmon hatchery, and lush rainforest vibes—even rainy days can’t ruin the magic (spotted some brave souls river rafting too!). 📍 Perfect Route for Views: 1️⃣ Park here: 📍5077 Dam Rd, North Vancouver. 2️⃣ Cross the dam: Left = thundering waterfalls; right = serene mountain lake views. 3️⃣ Trailhead: Enter Capilano River Regional Park. 4️⃣ Take the West Service Road, then fork left onto Giant Fir Trail . 🌿 Highlights: Giant Douglas-fir: A *61m-tall* ancient tree (the park’s tallest!), home to owls, eagles, and more. Second Canyon Viewpoint: My fave spot—watch the river rage below like nature’s power show! 🐟 Bonus: Salmon hatchery (learn about local conservation efforts). Rainforest giants: Moss-draped cedars, ferns, and Jurassic Park vibes. Stay tuned for Part 2!
