Cool trail and splits into multiple, so you never know in which direction you are going, but you will never get lost! Other than the big gravel roads that's vehicle-accessible for park rangers, smaller trails are kept in unity with nature, and I feel like I'm in a deep forest. It's hard to find a trail that makes you feel like you are deep forest so close to the city! There are couple viewpoints where you can also check out, such as the view of the damn from above, below, bridge downstream, and a side viewpoint further down where you can check out people fishing salmon. The trail isn't too long, but you can loop around as many times as you want to make it longer. If you want to go longer, there's an option to go down the river all the way down to Park Royal.

Yet another one of Vancouver's hidden gems. It looks like a small park with picnic tables but it's actually better. Aside from seeing the dam and Capilano river, which is beautifully maintained, there's different viewing decks, with short easy hikes to go on. You also have views of Grouse, and the gondolas, and on our visit we saw some people on parachutes (are they called paratroopers?) who were, i presume, base jumping from Grouse. Bikes are welcome, leashed pets are welcome. Pets are not allowed on the grass (a lot of people still take their dogs on the grass though, smh), because people sit on, lay on, eat on, go barefoot on, roll around on the grass.

Description
The Cleveland Dam is a 91-metre high concrete dam at the head of the Capilano River in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada that holds back Capilano Lake, also known as Capilano reservoir. Part of the Capilano River Regional Park, it stores a portion of the Lower Mainland's drinking water.
