Come see the beach kangaroos 🦘🏖️
Where to go in Canberra on weekends: Pebbly Beach + Jervis Bay + Batemans Bay + Narooma We stayed in Batemans Bay and traveled south and north on the two days respectively. 1️⃣ Pebbly Beach Known as the "Kangaroo Beach", the road here is a winding mountain road that’s not easy to drive. It feels like the kangaroos here interact with humans every day—they’re not afraid of people at all. You can take photos with them, and they might even approach you to play. 2️⃣ Jervis Bay Highly recommend visiting Hyams Beach ), a stunning white-sand beach with quite a few visitors. We tried Pasta Buoy, and the food was good. In the second half of the year, you can also go whale watching by boat here. We went last August and saw many whales. The ferries here are large, so you won’t get seasick easily. 3️⃣ Batemans Bay If you love fresh oysters, head to Oyster Shed on Wray —their oysters are delicious. On the way to Narooma, you’ll pass Bodalla Dairy Shed ), a dairy shop. The ice cream there is really tasty, and I also tried the strawberry milk, which was good too. At the backyard of the shop, you can see the calves and chickens they raise. 4️⃣ Narooma Check out Australia Rock , a rock shaped like the map of Australia. Walk along the road next to it, and you can spot wild sea lions 🦭 by the roadside. 5️⃣ Horse Head Rock Visiting here feels a bit like an "adventure" as you need to walk on some wild paths. You might also encounter large, strong kangaroos along the way. On the drive from Canberra to Batemans Bay, there’s also Pooh Bear Corner. For safety, you can take a quick look as you drive by. Near that section of the road, there are also small, heartwarming decorations like little horses "riding" on horizontal tree trunks. #CanberraSurrounds #SydneySurrounds #AustraliaTravel #TravelGuide #CanberraWeekend #SunbathingInTheWaves
