Come to LA's Top Noodle Spot — Shanxi Noodle Palace’s Specialties! 🍜

This isn’t my first time writing about this place, but after my last visit, I learned they take reservations for their show-stopping large copper hotpot and oat flour rolls (Youmian Kaolaolao)! This time, we ordered those plus three other noodle dishes and pig ears. In the end, six of us were stuffed and paid just $130 including tip — feels almost unreal in 2024 LA! 😲 The main reason I recommend it? It’s seriously delicious and full of character. Don’t forget to call one day ahead — the auntie who takes orders is super sweet! 📞💖 🏮 Noodle Palace 📍 8518 Valley Blvd, Rosemead 🔥 The Copper Hotpot is HUGE — loaded with pork belly, meatballs, tofu, seaweed, and potatoes. It comes with a pot of broth to add while simmering. Every ingredient soaks up the rich flavors, creating a perfect balance of meat and veggies. Absolute perfection! Some say their Shanxi friends eat this every New Year until they’re tired of it — well, lucky them! 🥘❤️ 🌾 Youmian Kaolaolao (Oat Flour Rolls) — I’ve had something similar at Xi Bei, but these were even more flavorful, getting sweeter as you chew (yes, salivary amylase plays a role — but it’s more than that!). 🍝 Three Noodle Styles: Mixed, Stir-fried, and Soup Noodles I preferred the first two — they really highlight the restaurant’s unique style. To recap from my last review: Shanxi noodles are truly next-level. I used to think it was all about soup-style — guess I was wrong! We ordered the Golden Pig Ear, Mixed Noodles with One Long Strand, Beef Stir-fried Pinched Noodles, and even took home fried cakes for friends. The pig ears had me hooked from the first bite. The mixed noodles come with tomato-egg sauce, minced pork, braised meat, and cucumber strips — each sauce is great alone, but together they’re magical. The stir-fried noodles are deeply flavorful and clearly hand-made — so chewy and satisfying. Overall: huge portions, great value, and absolutely delicious! Note: The kitchen seems to have just one chef, so service can be slow, but we didn’t encounter any attitude issues some have mentioned. #ShanxiNoodles #LANoodleSpot #CopperHotpot #YoumianKaolaolao #RosemeadEats #LAEats
